"This is Anne Jones, reporting live from the headquarters of the ACLU, where the organization has issued a 'DefCon IV Threat to the Constitution Alert' in the wake of a Republican presidential candidate's call for the creation of God's 'kingdom on earth.' We're speaking with ACLU representative Amanda Rogers. Ms. Rogers, now that a Republican candidate has brought the wall that separates church and state crashing to the ground, can our constitutional system be saved?"OK, perhaps I exaggerate just a tad, but you get the point. The MSM would surely be in full threat-to-the-Constitution cry if ever a Republican presidential candidate had said exactly what Barack Obama did yesterday [note that the CNN link where the story was originally reported is not working as of the posting of this item]:
"Anne, I'm afraid the answer is a resounding 'no,' at least, not if someone who thinks like this, and who sadly reflects the thinking of his entire party, is elected president. Fortunately, there are candidates from another party who respect the constitutionally decreed separaration of church and state."
"Thank you, Amanda; very frightening stuff. Now back to our studio, where we'll be breaking into our regularly-scheduled programming throughout the day to bring you updates on this unfolding crisis. I'll be back a little later with an interview with the pro-Constitution group 'People for the American Way,' which has called the Republican candidate's statement 'the gravest threat to America since the presidency of Ronald Reagan.'"
"Sometimes this is a difficult road being in politics. Sometimes you can become fearful, sometimes you can become vain, sometimes you can seek power just for powers sake instead of because you want to do service to God. I just want all of you to pray that I can be an instrument of God in the same way that Pastor Ron and all of you are instruments of God . . . Were going to keep on praising together. I am confident that we can create a Kingdom right here on Earth."I can report that there was no mention of Obama's comments during the crucial first half-hour of "Today." Over at MSNBC, Joe Scarborough praised Obama's words in the first half-hour of "Morning Joe," and Mika Brzezinski later chimed in, suggesting that Obama's statement was a good political move.
I’m also calling for God’s Kingdom on earth. But, from what the Bible tells me about that, it’s only the Messiah of Israel who brings that in (and no, I don’t mean the false Messiah or the Mahdi...).
Would you buy a used Senate seat from this man?
I see Obama was preaching to the choir again.
Since he did not mention Christ's Kingdom on Earth, what other conclusion is logical?
Or a terrorist!
He doesn't metion whose Kingdom.
Down to TRUST? That’s what the liars and cheaters want you to do. Go to www.myfoxny.com and search movie clip using words - organ donation controversy.. The young man did NOT have STROKES! Get the picture? Cut on 29 minutes before being pronounced dead.
Who can you trust? Maybe just the proven ones.
bttt
It makes one wonder whom he really serves.
The difference is:
for Obama (or any democrat) it’s a good political move.
for a conservative, they might really mean it.

-just WHAT is that she is wearing?
I understand what you’re driving at, but think it’s fair to say that in the context of what and where he was speaking he was referring to the kingdom of God.
Their eschatology states that when the mahdi arrives, he'll unite Islam against the infidels and conquer the world under a restored caliphate. Interestingly, they expect him to make a covenant with non-Muslims for seven years.
In conjunction, Isa (their Jesus) will return to earth, defer to the mahdi as having higher authority, renounce Christianity and remove it from the earth - they say "break all the crosses" which means that he will outlaw it (Judaism too), and the world will be subdued under Islam through conversion or death.
No more dhimmitude - the long-time option of paying the non-believer tax and living as a sub-class to Muslims will be no more. You either covert or die. They believe Jesus (who was never crucified but spirited away and another put in his place while Jesus was caught up to heaven by God) will head up this lovely program.
When Ahmadinejad publically calls for the mahdi to show up, this is the scenario for which he is longing.
Can't help it - I have this nagging suspicion that Obama's UCC black power church is a cover, that the man is a closet Muslim, and the kingdom to which he referred has nothing whatsoever to do with Jesus Christ.
A conservative already did this and the howling against her from the left was loud and long.
Oh no, he has got that old time religion. Now I know he is suspect.
I get your point, but the construction of the phrase “a Kingdom on earth” is so peculiar that it makes me wonder about what he really meant.
