was Gemma wearing a seat belt?
Picked up by Mark Steyn no less!
Am I to assume that the family did not have a comprehensive auto insurance policy at the time of the accident? If they were not at fault, the other party involved would have had auto insurance that would cover the injuries.
I will also make the assumption that it is MANDATORY to have auto insurance coverage where they live.
As usual, this whole story is a put on from beginning to end. You can always depend on a liberal to lie, always...
Can anyone say insurance fraud? With the money and assets listed in this report, it would lead one to believe that this family withheld vital information in order to qualify for SCHIPS. That is a federal crime and also unethical.
The Dems know that a lie is halfway around the world before the truth puts on its shoes.
Remember Winnifred Skinner, the septuagenarian woman who turned up at a Gore event in 2000 talking about how she had to walk alongside highways picking up aluminum cans to eat after paying for her prescription meds? After the MSM was lavishing attention on her, endlessly showing footage of her picking up cans and bottles, CNS News called her and interviewed her. Turns out she isn't in favor of the taxpayers paying for her medicine, she just wanted to earn the money herself. To that end, she turned down offers of help from relatives, and she refuses to file to receive food stamps even though she qualifies.
The real kicker is that she was asked to attend the Gore event and tell her story of can collecting by the United Auto Workers union, which pays her a pension of $129 per month.
BUMP
Did you read Mark Steyn’s mention of you over at NRO yesterday afternoon?

As of 9:00 am Monday morning - over 14,000 people have viewed this thread.
Congratulations!!!
Re-post in order for a new week?
Just emailed your article to some friends and Michelle Malkin.
Probably the best post on the thread, even considering the excellent sleuthing that started it off.
“were passengers in the family SUV in December 2004 when it hit a patch of black ice and slammed into a tree.”
Ah Ha! The evil SUV attempts to kill another family! That does make it Bush’s fault!
DemocRATS give intellectual dishonesty a bad name.
Nicely done.
I notice that 104 S. Collington is not the Frost's "principal residence" -- at least as listed on the public property record online for Maryland Department of Assessments and Taxation, Baltimore City.
This could be an error in the record; but it makes me wonder if they might have another house that is their "principal residence."
104 S. Collington, described as "one bath" on zillow, would be a little cramped for a family of that size today (though I'm sure many of us here on FR grew up in one-bathroom homes!).
This article is linked at the Michigan Republican party blog site.
I received it in the daily email “articles of interest”.
I’d say its going to get out.
I just can’t believe the Democrats would use a child to lie to us for their own advantage.
From the February 2005 edition of "Butchers Hill: Baltimore's Friendliest Neighborhood" newsletter:
THE FROST KIDS' FUND
Two children in the Frost family of S. Collington Ave., Graeme and Gemma, were seriously injured in early December when the car they were riding in slid on glare ice into a tree. They spent three weeks in the Pediatric Intensive Care at Sinai Hospital and are now undergoing reconstructive surgery, and rehabilitation and therapy at the Kennedy Krieger Institute.
A fund has been set up for those who would like to contribute to help defray the family's expenses. These funds will be available to the family for medical costs and other needs they will face as they cope with their ordeal. Deposits are anonymous. Checks may be made out to The Frost Kids' Fund and sent to:

Baltimore Md. 21201A very special thanks from Bonnie and Halsey Frost to neighbors past and present who have done so much to help, in so many ways, over the past weeks. You truly make our neighborhood special and unique.
