Senator Tom Harkin: Phony Vietnam Hero Like another prominent Democrat(ick) Senator we know? Maybe Tom Harkins outrageous comment regarding Rush Limbaugh yesterday was a Vietnam flashback. Oops. Lets jump in the way back machine to August, 19, 2004. The Wall Street Journal: Candidate Harkin Stretches the Truth, Vietnam isnt the only instance. In explaining his Vietnam experience at that congressional round-table in 1979, Sen. Harkin says that in retrospect maybe I didnt say it right. Didnt say it right? How about lied, Senator? Just like John Kerrys Christmas in Cambodia.
