Guess you didn’t read this:
The Flag Code is a codification of customs and rules established for the use of certain civilians and civilian groups. No penalty or punishment is specified in the Flag Code for display of the flag of the United States in a manner other than as suggested. Cases which have construed the former 36 U.S.C. § 17521 have concluded that the Flag Code does not proscribe conduct, but is merely declaratory and advisory.”
So what do you do when you catch somebody flying the flag after dark without s spotlight, or leaving it flying in a thunderstorm? Burn their house down?
Now try argument.
Get a job..
So then, are you saying that you are OK with the action of flying a mexican flag over/above an American flag on our soil?
Of course they want a damned war. They wanted the Rodney King riots, too, and they got them. I am sure they will cheer when the Stars and Stripes falls. God will damn them.
You got no standing in this.
Butt out.
I will neither debate it with you, nor respond to you again.
If you get stupid enough, there are plenty that will respond for me.
Have a nice day.
There is no penalty for flying a Mexican or Confederate Flag above the American Flag.
However, there is a penalty for theft and that includes stealing a flag.
Of course I am not saying it is acceptable.
Please stick to the topic. The issue is whether this is an actual Federal law with criminal penalties, or not. As far as I can tell, it is not. If the person who flew the Mexican flag above the US flag was arrested by an FBI agent, the prosecutor would have no case.
You anger got the best of you.
Go back and and read the rest of his post. That contained the argument.
While I agree with the sentiments of this gentleman, it is still LEGAL to fly the Mexican, Confederate, or any other flag you want under the FIRST AMENDMENT! How many times do I need to repeat myself?
It may be in bad taste but it is not an enforceable law as there are no penalties attached.
got your back,,been known to be as stupid as they are, just not as often...
Hint: Truth is NOT in the eye of the beholder. :)
Your link does not seem to work.
Are you saying that CNN feels sorry for the man who stole that American Flag?
After all, as I am not an expect on Nevada Law, I suspect that there is a law in that state against Theft of Private Property.
I fly the “ Battle Flag “ never above the American Flag...
There is a penalty dipstick,,you just ain’t figured it out..
That's hyperbole and unrelated to this entire thread. It's over-the-top rhetoric like that that makes me shake my head in dismay. Whoever suggested that? Whoever did that?
I stand with OldSmaj.
I am gainfully employed. Thanks anyway.
According the the SCOTUS it is legal to burn the flag of the United States, Mexico, Iran, China or any other country as long as you are the person who owns the flag.
