Well, I guess Bush was stuck with him since he's the ambassador. I thought at first he was running out Lantos' time, but I don't think he's that hep or hip. Fortunately, most people want to hear what the General has to say, not this run-of-the-mill diplomat who has exactly zero ability to subtly harpoon the inquisitor as Gen. Petreus can and does.
Random thoughts........Lantos is lower than the lowest slime in the universe. If there was some kind of holocaust affecting him today, he would try to bargain and appease his way out of danger......Duncan Hunter is doing great and is improving his stature and status by leaps and bounds......In order to validate one of his seditious points, Lantos used the term "responsible media" which in reference to his point is an oxymoron......Lantos mentioned all the generals and military officers, active and retired, who agree with him on a quick pull-out from Iraq. I would hope the Drive-by-Media will challenge him to name names after the hearing today and just as certain that they won't and that he can't.

He is very qualified. He has spent his entire career in the Middle East. He speaks fluent Arabic. He is the right man in the right place at the right time.
