I've been proposing the idea that Fred Thompson could do three things at one time that would assure his election, and might even return the congress and senate to Republican control. As follows:
1) - Announce for President as the September-Report on Iraq is delivered.
2) - Include his choice for V-P as Duncan Hunter or Tom Tancredo.
3) - Specifically state that his very-first job when elected would be to 'Build a Secure Border with Mexico, and Damn Well Enforce the Border, with force-of-arms if necessary!
Several weeks ago, Americans rose-up in righteous anger, and forced the sleazebag politicos to abandon their lousy attempts to pass yet another lying-shamnesty bill. They were sick of the lies, and wanted a secure Border! The loosely organized folks who came together and made that happen are still watching, and the organization is still in place!
The Internet is really starting to blossom as an action-tool.
If Fred Thompson can tap-into that out-pouring of American desires, which, IIRC was between 72 to 85 percent of all the messages sent then, he would be unstoppable!
The issue of a secure Border is the main part of Hunters and Tancredos campaign, but the liberal MSM won't give them any face-time. Thompson, on the other hand, is getting mondo-exposure as a non-candidate, and the MSM is giving it to him for free.
When he announces, and if he does the three things noted, it would be an explosion in the MSM, lasting through the primaries and through the election! The dhimmicRATS would never be able to recover.
The American People want it! Make it the main plank of the campaign, and Fred becomes President! I think it would work, and, it would be the right thing to do. Stay well ....................... FRegards
It's time Americans victimized by these alien invaders have OUR rights enforced by federal law. The SPLC knows what it can do with its nonsensical blathering.
Clearly, latino invaders, MS-13 gangs, and their cadres of co-conspirators are (a) publicly and privately conspiring against the US government and (b) committing hate crimes against America and Americans.
Anyone who spews hate and discontent about OUR country, who marches in mobs, holds up hate signs, and publicly proclaims they will violate US law, shall be penalized (and shall be excluded from holding US citizenship).
It's time to penalize anyone on American soil who (a) conspires to undermine the US government, and (b) commits hate crimes against America and Americans.

ACTION NOW Tancredo or Hunter should be called upon to initiate federal legislation that would impose severe penalties for foreigners undermining the US government and committing hate crimes against Americans (crimes like stealing our identities, cloning our cell phones, fraudulently registering/voting, and looting the tax assets of Americans).

FReepers should emphasize to lawmakers that Americans are demanding:
Federal grounds for expulsion from US soil
Federal grounds for denying citizenship
Provisional federal citizenship laws
Severe penalties for committing Hate Crimes Against Americans
Severe penalties for conspiring against, and undermining, the US government.
Denying federal funds to sanctuary-cities.
Abolishing anchor-baby ruling.
STRICT ENFORCEMENT of all EXISTING laws WRT illegals.
If he rides that horse in the direction it's going he'll leave Hillinsky in his dust.
I have long believed that Thompson doesn't plan on running a traditional campaign. I think he will announce with several plan and programs in place, as well as some cabinet positions, and catch the opposition flat footed.
That, to my mind is one reason he's waiting to announce...he's getting all the ducks in a row.
I'd vote for Duncan as VP or SecDef...but not Tancredo...he is a one issue guy without the depth to run the country if Fred went down. Tancredo on the ballot would hurt Fred's chances - he'd become the focus of the opposition. Duncan on the other hand is respected by all who know him - including many Democrats! He might even be a key to taking California?!?
I think Fred will announce with planks on 1)the border, 2) national security, 3) Social Security, 4) medical coverage, 5) infrastructure renewal, and perhaps, energy & taxes! I also think Fred will excoriate the Democrats on their defeatist posture in Iraq!
If my guess is even close, Hillary and Obama will be chewing their cuds for a long time before they can respond...and it will make them look as they are; Unimaginative & Unprepared!
I agree with suggestion #1 and #3. I think those would assure his nomination and election. As for #2, I do not think that either Hunter or Tancredo would help him win the general election, and could hurt him. I think he should pick his VP after being nominated, not before.

If he would promise this...

...he would have people turning into broken glass Republicans, again...and would attract many, many indies, not to mention those 'rats who don't like Hillary or Obama.
Illegal immigration, and securing the borders, which goes along with national security, will be the hot button issues this time.
