Mark Rudd rallied his SDS for a defiant last stand in Chicago: SDS Days of Rage October 8-11, 1969. Mayor Richard E. Daley ringed Rudd's ragged two hundred with Dick Tracy's in trench coats clustered around walkie-talkies, gangs of off-duty cops in sport shirts and khakis, platoons of pigeon-egg-blue-helmeted police with long nightsticks, the Chicago Tactical Police in gladiator black leathers, face masks and truncheons, convoys of unmarked sedans followed by a jail on wheels.

When Rudd's bullhorn signalled the rampage, the SDS ran down Chicago sidewalks throwing rocks through plate glass store fronts, leaving the krystalnacht white-bread-Red style, then high-tailing it into seven pre-arranged churches for sanctuary.

Daley's police army went right in and hauled them right out--to the jail.

Arkansas Governor Bill Clinton made one and only one book required reading for his staff: Mike Royko's 1972 biography of Democrat Chicago strongman Mayor Richard E. Daley, Boss.

When Clinton wanted somebody deported, he didn't pussy-foot around. H&K MP-5's, beat down the cameraman, terrify the child (about the age of the extant dear one). In service to the butcher of one hundred thousand, Fidel Excremento.

And the media called it a good kidnapping.
