I just looked at the tracking and it appears that Punta Gorda, Belize will NOT take a direct hit, just as you said. BUT they are going to get a hugh storm surge and the church and missionary school is right near the beach. Please continue to pray for all.

On the south side of the eye, there will not be significant storm surge. The winds will be offshore, not onshore.

Check out the surge map in post 448 - 2-4 feet at Belize City. And your friends are south of there.

I now doubt they will feel more than upper-end tropical storm force winds.
