Armed police were called after a family visiting relatives were robbed by 10 masked men, two with guns.
The driver was parked near his parents' home in Eldon Road, Luton, on Thursday evening when a gang surrounded his car.
He fled on foot towards a nearby bridge but two of the offenders caught him and took his car keys, police said.
His brother and a friend also ran away but were not followed. Two girls aged 13 and six left in the car were made to hand over clothing and mobiles phones.

I was just on a British site where they were discussing the worst cities in Britain. Luton was named the “worst” by several posters. It sounds like a terrible place. Can we think of any places like that in the US?

Washington D.C., Detroit, and my own Los Angeles. All cities where 95%+ of those who are armed are criminals, thanks to gun control BS.
This is the inevitable and foreseen result of taking guns away from law-abiding citizens. Since it was foreseen, it was intended, and therefore the politicians are guilty of the assault.

All good examples. I can think of a t least a half dozen off the top of my head, too, and looking around the world any country which embraces the welfare state, uncontrolled immigration, and strict gun control laws are facing similar situations. It really is a shame.
I am SHOCKED that grown men fled and left two girls to the mercy of this armed gang. This is just NOT right.
In fairness, running away when threatened with a gun is an instinctive reaction. It may not have been a rational thing to do in this case, with leaving the girls behind, but it is difficult to act rationally when you’re suddenly confronted with a gun in your face. I’m sure the guys who ran away, now that they’ve had a chance to calm down, are regretting their actions, and rightly so.
Properly standing up to an armed attacker requires training and good discipline. Becoming Rambo or Lara Croft isn’t easy. Think of the Virginia Tech shooting - it’s not really logical to expect typical college kids to react like Army Rangers or Navy Seals.
If men were allowed to own guns, these thugs wouldn’t have gotten away with this. Did you notice they had to call a “special” police response with guns to look for them?
Baloney, it requires backbone and balls.
