Bloodbath At ABC! More High-Level Reporter Cuts At Disney's Dinosaur Media
Sources in NY | MB-26

Posted on 07/24/2007 7:06:51 AM PDT by MindBender26

The demise of the dinosaur media continues as ABC just confirmed it will not renew the contracts of three of its most experienced international reporters. Bill Redeker, Dean Reynolds and Mark Litke are all veteran journalists who have covered serious news such as wars, natural disasters and international politics for decades.

These are in addition to deep cuts accounced a week ago.

The dismissal of these knowledgeable “grey-haired white guys” while devoting hours to Paris Hilton coverage is both a symptom of and a reason for the death of the dinosaur media.

A friend at ABC just said that no one there expects these to be the last cuts. They find it more than painfully ironic that the only anchors who can generate serious ratings are “old guys” like Gibson and Scheiffer, and it’s older Americans who have the disposable income to buy the highest profit items featured in commercials, but the “suits” fire the “old guys.”

Young moms may buy two for a dollar cookies and lemonade, but 50 year-old men buy Cadillacs and Lexuses.

Current TV Network News rule #7: If someone wears a suit on the air, great. If they wear a suit to the office upstairs, they are an idiot.

I use to watch Dean Reynold’s father Frankn on ABC Nightly News. He was the only one watchable at the time.

All three could all go to cable and make huge sums of money. I don’t think we’ll need to have any charity benefits for any of them anytime soon.

It's intriguing to witness the lengths to which liberals will go to avoid confronting the plain truth of their bias and its consequences.

They'll gladly ride the ship into the murky depths before ever admitting they're simply wrong.

Cable news (FoxNews and CNN) are all over the Lohan arrest.

They are turning into tabliod4trashnews networks.

FoxNews was even running Lohan Alerts while interviewing a guy regarding al-Qaeda terrorists.

The off button still works.

Forgot to mention that Dean Reynolds is the son of the late ABC News anchorman, Frank Reynolds.

And now it begins. The water carriers for the media are now getting their thanks. Get out. We think our Furher is going to win, well we are going to do everything to make sure she does. We don’t need “reporters” anymore. We will tell the newsreaders what to say and think......as soon as President Hillary gives us the propaganda to right.

Dean Reynolds was snatched up by CBS News yesterday. He’ll be based out of Chicago.

Less “info-” and more “-tainment”.

In a way, it’s like when Music Television stopped playing music videos. I used to like to watch Music Television before it became just MTV. Is it still in business?

Their next step is to hire 20-somethings to report the news from Iraq and overseas, like, you know?......

Mr. Redeker served as the Middle East correspondent for ABC News, based in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, from 1995 to 1998. During his assignment, he covered the assassination of Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, suicide terrorist attacks in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, the Israeli and Palestinian elections and the bombing of the Khobar Towers in Saudi Arabia."

No more straight white men!

The bathhouse boys have taken over, along with the NOW and NAALCP gangs.

Yep.

And we’re much more likely to vote, btw.

"Mark Litke, a 27-year veteran of ABC News, is chief Asia correspondent for the Network, based in Hong Kong.

For more than two decades Mr. Litke has reported from almost every country in the world's most populous region.

He has provided extensive coverage for ABC's "World News," "Nightline" and on Asia's battle against terrorism following the events of 9/11, the emergence of Islamic militancy in Indonesia and the Philippines, and the economic and political impact of terrorism on China, Japan, Korea, Pakistan and India."

You are so correct and on point.

These Morons who run the three network news divisions were hired because their former talents at producing children's movies brought big bucks to Hollywood studios.

The same mentality that sells National Enquirer won’t sell to Americas news watchers who just happen to be middled aged and above.

Liberals don’t watch much news because their to busy protesting down at the corner or reading the latest on Paris Hilton.

“Campbell Brown to Leave NBC for CNN Prime-Time Slot”

Two people who have been briefed on those plans but were not authorized to discuss them for attribution, said that Ms. Brown would be replacing Paula Zahn, whose 8 p.m. program has long been battered in the ratings by Bill O’Reilly’s on Fox News. An announcement on Ms. Zahn’s fate, and Ms. Brown’s actual assignment, is expected before the end of this week.”

There are also reports that Paula Zahnn’s been canned.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/07/23/AR2007072301780.html

“Unofficially, insiders confirm that Paula Zahn, who hosts a nightly talk show on CNN, will be leaving the network shortly.

But to the frustration of reporters on a conference call yesterday, CNN President Jon Klein said he could not confirm whether Brown will be taking over Zahn’s 8 p.m. time slot, or even whether Zahn is leaving, until some final details are worked out.”

“FoxNews was even running Lohan Alerts while interviewing a guy regarding al-Qaeda terrorists.”

Fox has become almost unwatchable. All sensationalism, all the time. It’s either a missing white woman, or a wayward celebrity, or a car chase. And I’ve noticed the Springer-esque slant BOR has taken. If BOR isn’t yelling at a guest, the guest is yelling at him!

Bah.
