Everytime I hear this BS, I want to puke. All doctors are not in it for the money. Yes, they do make what seems to us to be lots of money. BUT, and it is a big but, if this BS about ALL doctors hiding the truth were true, it would be the biggest conspiracy that ever existed.

I have personally known two who would be shouting it from the rooftops. The first instance was one my ex-wife worked for. If he thought the patient couldn't pay, he did not even send a bill. In the two years she worked for him, she, just a receptionist made more money than he did. He is currently teaching medicine at a well respected medical school.

The other always gave me ,and all his patients, enough of a sample drug to see if it was going to work, BEFORE writing a perscription, and I have insurance. If he changed perscriptions on you, he would (illegally) ask if you would leave your leftover drugs with him. He would GIVE these to patients who could not afford them. He,regrettably, moved back to more southern climes.

Neither of these men would be part of any conspiracy to hide the truth from anyone.

BTW Both were swamped with patients....

I agree! My doctor always gives me samples first. When I was uninsured, he gave me lots of samples. And, I know several doctors who died because of Alzheimer's. I've studied it for years because, I not only work with Alheimer's patients, but come home to another. I try anything even remotely connected to the disease to help my other half. And, it is hereditary, though not all family members develop it. I was in shock when I first heard the word, and checked out his family. I found out his great aunt died in a convent with the disease. He is still coherent, and can even drive short, familiar distances, but I know it will get him in the end. He doesn't know the doctors suspect Alzheimers, though he's on Aricept, because I know he would kill himself if he knew.

I found some of the jokes here funny, but the disease itself is devasting to everyone who knows someone with Alzheimer's.
