The man can articulate good common sense views and politics.
The man has substance.
Makes him a good contender to take it all...

"The 6 6 southern lawyer and former Tennessee Senator, about the only candidate in the race not dependent upon public office for a decent living, threatens liberals and self-styled conservatives alike. He seems to be shaking up Washington politics, even before getting to Washington."
THE GOP PLAYERS:
Rommney -
Net worth 190 to 250 mil all private sector Rudy -
Net worth 18 to 70 mil all private sector McCain - riding the wife gravy train

And they are! Any so called “Conservative” that isn’t delighted to see this man run is just a RINO in Conservative clothes.
To: NoobRep
Listening to RINOs accuse him of not being conservative enough is almost as entertaining as listening to socialists accuse him of being old fashioned in his non-progressive love for fundamental American principles and values, like Life, Liberty and Individual Happiness through individual achievement. We see a fair amount of that going on here. Except it's incorrect to call these folks "RINO's"-- they ARE the mainstream of the GOP. Still, it's fun to see the fans of all the other candidates going apoplectic over Fred on this site. :)

I’ve said this on nearly every Fred Dalton Thompson thread - This is the one man among our candidates that I will physically go out and support. I will get up off my comfy chair in front of the computer and make people around me vote for this man. The others... ehhh I’ll vote for any of them over the Wicked Witch of New York...er Arkansas ..er Chicago.. er whatever.
But if Fred runs, I think you’ll see a whole lot of energy in the base. Ask Neil Cavuto what he thought when Thompson showed up pro se for his interview.

The left tried this crap with Reagan... they will have the same result as they did back in the 80’s! America tried the commies again one more time (2006), but America has already had a belly full of reid and pelosi... as of today.
Fred will crush their pitiful attacks with class and humor. He left scars on mikey moore’s large arse just the other day.

Exactly. I'm tired of seeing Republicans bend over and grab their ankles. Based on what I saw in the Michael Moore video, it looks like Fred can, and will, stand up to these left-wing vermin, and show that a Republican can garner some respect, for a change.
To: NoobRep
I think the main difference is Thompson appears to be enjoying himself, and thats a stark contrast to everybody else - in either party right now.

They wonder if Thompson is being baptized into the Bush doctrine on globalization,Baptized? He's already a member of the globalist CFR, supported McCain-Feingold, once supported amnesty and is suspiciously avoiding the debates. The latter is a puzzle. It makes it seem Thompson is hiding something or expects to be anointed like Bush in 2000.
I am giving Thompson a serious look and so far I don't like what I see.
To: mikeus_maximus
Most of the “mainstream” Republicans that I know (and that is many) will vote for Fred!

The nice thing about Fred if he does come under fire he will fire back...no more trying to appease the left....That is what we need to fire up the base. To play "nice" with the demos is to lose. They must be defeated at every turn. It would be nice to retake the RNC and expel the RINOs. They only work to destroy the Conservative platform. There are more than enough "true" conservatives to run. An equal effort must be made to rid the party completely of RINOs, as they should be to defeat the Stalinist left.
America is getting mixed signals about the true Conservative message. With all the devious RINOs in our party, most Americans can't tell the difference. I believe when Americans see the true message of conservatives, we will easily win the day. If we loose a few seats rebuilding the party, then so be it.
