Really, and honestly, do you move over and let the faster vehicle pass or do you think to yourself that you’re going fast enough and the lunatic behind you should either slow down, or find his own way around you?
The only person who drives your speed is you. Then, as George Carlin would say, there are the idiots, (the 49.9% drivers who are slower than you), and the maniacs, (the 49.9% of the drivers that are faster than you).
In my experience, those that complain the most about slower drivers in the left lane are also the least likely to cede the lane when faster traffic comes up behind them.
If all lanes to the right of me are full, I too will stay in the left lane, but I watch my mirrors and if someone is quickly approaching I will move over when it’s safe to do so, and let them by.
I will however say that the ones that burn me up the most are the ones going slower than the flow of traffic in the car pool lane. There you are trapped by a solid double yellow line to your left, a concrete wall to your right, and a car doing 65 right in front of you. Meanwhile, traffic in the other lanes is zippin by at 80-85.
You move over. A little courtesy won't kill you, and it's the right thing to do. If you're not passing anyone, and you're not in stop-and-go traffic, you have no business being in the far left lane.

I move over and let the faster vehicle pass me, if at all possible.
Rule of thumb: If someone is behind you, and going faster than you, or prevented from going faster than you ONLY because you are in front of them, then you are in the wrong lane and need to move to the right. (if traffic allows, of course)

Well consider me a counterexample.
I don't usually cruise in the left lane, even at speeds higher than the posted limit. But in answer to your question, yes... under those circumstances I'd move over and let the faster car pass on the left. Really and honestly.
If someone wants to "run blocker" for me, I'll happily let 'em - and continue at my comfortable "10 MPH over" cruise.
I get out of the lane. I do that on the highway even when I am not in the left lane. Of course, I am a quick driver, and don't automatically think all drivers going faster than me are lunatics.
I'm typically at 15 mph+ and yes I would gladly move over, I like it when someone is driving much faster then I am because then I can get right back in the left lane after they zoom by and they will be the ones to flush out the cops.

Yep, someone doing 70 is just as annoying as someone doing 65
I liked the old Gallagher routine about how cops a doubly bad, because they normally drive the speed limit. And then when they catch people speeding, they speed up to catch them. What does this do? Doubles the number of cars going a dangerous speed.
