Authorities say they found the body at Mineral Spa Road near Niland
Deputies say they found the person's dog running around in the area, but, then, later discovered the person's vehicle and body.
Deputies believe the person's death was caused by drowning, and they believe the person was on duty.

White House: “Nothing to see folks. Move along.... move along... Nothing to see folks. Move along.... move along... Nothing to see folks. Move along.... move along... “
Lainey, there is no place for talk like that in any kind of adult discussion. Your words are the type of thing that give the rest of us a bad name. Please be more careful.
This is just what our President wants — for the invaders to have free passage and our front-line defenders to be killed.
they tried that and ended up in Prison!
An assisted accident?
Part of the problem is that Border Patrol Agents Patrol alone. If there is an accident, they can not get help.
Its time to repeal Posse Comitatus, and start treating the
southern border as a Military Zone, with regular patrols
such as are done in Iraq.
If any were unduly troubled, we still might need Sutton here. At very least, I think that we owe it to them to give them full citizenship, with counseling, back pay, and benefits.
Of course such benefits should not be just handed out willy nilly. I think that any document challenged persons should be required to agree that they were troubled first. Additionally, as a show of good faith, the newly open Border Patrol position should not be filled and ten miles of border fence should be removed.
Viva El Presidente Jorge Bush!
Oh I know..... I’m just so frustrated to think that these people have declared war on us..... and our BP is not allowed to defend itself adequately.
That was my first thought. Maybe they thought they were safe with the dog around? It's a shame.
Do you happen to have any information about this?
I agree. It is now too dangerous. I talked to a border patrol agent once that said he tracks people at night for a couple of hours at night through the open desert. I got the impression he did it alone.
Was a quite interesting story. He was at the barber when I was and had the whole place listening. He said it took 2 hours to process one person (to the time they are put back across the border). He said the record for catching the same person in one 24 hour period is three times, meaning the same person was caught and put back, caught and put back and caught again.
Thanks for the interesting post.
What does this have to do with the article?
I say, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH for GWB’s surrender to Mexico.
A California Border Patrol agent was found dead Friday evening, floating in the Coachella Canal, near the Salton Sea, officials said.
As reported on thedesertsun.com, the agent apparently drowned and was found in a canal, said Agent Enrique Lozano.
The agent, Lozano said, died while on duty.
A second spokesman with the El Centro office said the dead agent was stationed in Indio.
At press time, the agent’s family had yet to be notified.
The Border Patrol did not release the agent’s name.
At the scene, Border Patrol Agent David Kim told broadcast reporters that the agent was reported missing about 3 p.m. Searching agents found his vehicle in a remote area near the canal and later found his body in the canal.
Kim also told broadcast reporters that there had been past incidents where agents on patrol had fallen into the canal.
Lozano would not confirm broadcast reports that the dead agent had been reported missing earlier in the day, and that his body was found by other Border Patrol agents who had been searching for him.
Riverside and Imperial county sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene at the Salton Sea near Niland, in Imperial County, which is about 60 miles southeast of Indio.
Officials could not say whether the agent’s death was an accident.
The incident remains under investigation.
If it isn’t suicide or an accident they should check the dogs mouth for blood (DNA) in case the dog bite the attacker. This might help in the investigation.
Yes. I've seen/met several.
the whole thing is maddening beyond frustration level!!! Its just nuts.
Can you imagine how the BP feels? They're in it day......after day........after day. We have a people that are invading our country enmasse... stealing our welfare system, education and medical field blind..... killing our officers.....trampling private property and refusing to assimilate when allowed to stay... AND our gov't........ whose only true purpose is to protect our nation... sits on their collective arses and looks the other way.
