Just thought that this would be of interest to Duncan Hunter supporters.
I was just watching Hannity and Colmes and Sean Hannity asked her who she supports for president. She replied "Duncan Hunter". Sean said, "But do you really think that he can win?". Ann then said that he might win if Sean Hannity would actually talk about him on his show.
I'm glad that Ann called Hannity on this. He has been hyping Giuliani for the past few months while ignoring the true conservative in the race.
“Maybe Hannity realizes something FReepers cannot,”
Maybe FReepers realize something that Hannity does not. This nation is not going to elect an abortion supporting, gun grabbing liberal bald former mayor of NYC to the presidency. Sorry but it is true.
Define “free.”
Define “free” trade.
Nothing is “free.” Somebody does pay.
..I'm delighted to hear she supports Hunter!!
Don't worry...Giuliani's true colors are becoming very vivid!!
And on that happy note I'm off to bed!
Very nice, juxtaposition
You are very right - but be careful. There are many on FR that think it’s okay for the government to tell business how to do business and who don’t trust the market.
How is it protectionist to think that perhaps it’s unfair to over tax our own manufacturing but not to tax imported goods?
How is it protectionist, to recognize the difference between good manufactured in a nation with rule of law, and the expenses associated with that, as opposed to importing goods from Authoritarian states, with little to no protection from the courts?
The problem with free trade hyperbole, is that there isn’t currently free trade, the laws are not only not protectionist, they’re the opposite giving importers a decided advantage over manufacturing at home. I don't beleive Hunter is wanting to leave America behind, nor is he for protectionism just a balanced playing field. I think everyone in this country can understand that point of view.
One of the most conservative ideals I can think of is home defense, and our ability to wage war.....we won ww2 more in the shops, and factories then we did through any maps or strategies. If we can’t bring manufacturing back home, our future security and ability to defend ourselves is at stake.
Hasn’t anyone told her that he can’t win? sarc/
I thought that Ann made a mistake when she went up against President Bush concerning Harriet Meiers nomination for the Supreme Court.
I was wrong again, and she was right again.
If Ann is for Duncan, then I probably must be as well.
Whatever opinions people have about Ann’s delivery, her message is one of unapologetic, uncompromising conservatism. She realizes that if conservatism is to actually make a difference in America (instead of just taking the blame for creeping socialism) it starts with running the right (pun intended) candidate.
As implemented Free Trade is a joke. What's free about it. An average citizen can't go to Mexico and bring back a case of beer. GM can send and auto plant there, get money to do it, import the cars without paying tarrifs. What's free about that. It's more like the Mussolini-style corporatism, really.
I believe that both policies protect our people and secure our freedom.
I thought the same at first, I lean toward being a “free-marketeer”, so the short-hand description of Hunter as “protectionist” bothered me a bit.
But I see nothing wrong with holding China to the rules.
And on everything else, Hunter is the best guy out there. He is the adult among adults running for president this year.
I’m willing to give him a chance, and give the primary process a chance, I’m not willing to prejudge that he “can’t win” when he is without doubt the best man running. Most of the others are good men, several of them would make good presidents, but Hunter is the best of a pretty good crop.
By the way, I checked your page, it takes forever to load, but it is very cool.
She needs to take time to have a cheeseburger and a man.
Hey, you’re still here! :-)
And a beer. Or two.
I’ll fire up the grill...
Baldness is not relative, nor are big ears, or cankles if you want to go down the row of body parts.
OK, so the majority on this forum may disdain Rudy for example because he dressed in drag in a fund-raiser. Or maybe abortion or gun issues. Or others.
Fine. It is a free country. But what many discount is how free-thinking people feel about gubmint at large and those that have sucked the public teat for too long.
It is not what Mr. Hunter says, but what he does. Cashing gubmint paychecks for decades is his problem, not the solution. He'll never be elected for this reason.
And just as there are those that would never, ever, vote for a "mayor" there are those that would also never, ever, vote for a legislator, do the math for the last 200 years for POTUS.
The MSM is even smart enough to not pick this up, and even us conservative hayseed hick dolts know that anointing a perpetual congressman will never happen.
Lots of Fred supporters here too, but again he's a former senator, that won't wash either.
There is a lot to be learned from stepping away from Algore's Internet that he created and the keyboard and taking a fair look at history.
I just don't trust the government. Do you support MFN for China?
