I could find plenty of your posts that would paint you differently than you...and your allies here do.
Over the years, I've used a different analogy of what Howlin was expressing but unlike hers....mine was said with love and affection.
I said, the Religious Right should get in the back seat, please buckle up and to 'keep quiet'. Okay...I admit I may have used an acronym.
But I did ask them to buckle. ;^)
Trace your posts back. I wasn’t talking about Howlin. You’re mistaken.
That’s a really reasonable request there, guy. It amounts to “Shut up and do what we tell you.”
I’ve told you before, Christian conservatives are not all monolithic. Demeaning them earns you nothing here, certainly very little goodwill.
She may have very well left on her own. Rumor has it that she is admin at an antifreeper site. Just rumors though.
But, the RR is not going to keep quiet and anyone who thinks so is just deluding themselves. The RR is not a monolith, awaiting a wink, nod and knowing glance on what they need to do.
My opinion is that there is a certain portion of the electorate that the Republicans have had in their pocket for years now, that is up for grabs if Giuliani is indeed the nominee.
I cannot see any way that Rudy can be dressed up to appeal to the basic requirements of Christian conservatives. It is a remarkable gamble to expect a Republican victory without us. I just do not believe Rudy is going to win the primary.
Who will? damfino (to close with my favorite acronym.)
There is no way I can separate my value system into “religious” and “non-religious” parts.
It’s the need to stand up that makes me politically active. It’s the need to stand for right, for the unborn, the vunerable, the small.
What part of me can I check at the door? My belief in justice? My belief that life is valuable in all its’ stages, and that to give up that belief turns us into tools of the state, available to be manipulated by some state or court mandated definition of when you are a person or not? The need to fight against the pc attitudes that say “diversity is the new holiness, and to heck with the first amendment?”
I cannot divide my soul, nor can I be quiet. I will not buckle up and sit in the back of the bus.
That’s okay to say... over on the other forum where you can drive. But in your analogy, the car belongs to the religious right, so you and howlin are incredibly rude. You wanna drive, get yer own car. That’s what she did.
