Voicemail Rant Reheats Alec-Kim Feud(Alec Baldwin)
Fox News ^ | 3/19/07 | SANDY COHEN

The festering bad blood between movie-star exes Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger erupted Thursday when an angry phone message from Baldwin to his daughter was made public. On the recording, Baldwin can be heard berating his 11-year-old, Ireland, "You are a rude, thoughtless little pig."

"You don't have the brains or the decency as a human being," he says, apparently upset that she did not answer her phone for a planned call.

"I don't give a damn that you're 12 years old, or 11 years old, or that you're a child, or that your mother is a thoughtless pain in the ass who doesn't care about what you do as far as I'm concerned. You have humiliated me for the last time with this phone."

He goes on to say that he plans to fly from New York to Los Angeles "for the day just to straighten you out on this issue."

Not a big Baldwin fan are you? (and who could blame you) It was a parody of one of his speeches from some movie I can’t remember the name of where he played a doctor on trial for malpractice.

I never talked to my children like that. It is inexcusable. How is it Kim Basinger’s fault that he’s such a a$$

I agree that show is great - as is his character.

I have no qualms about watching it because I’ve always viewed him as an a-hole. I watched one episode begrudgingly and laughed and since then I try to separate the loathsome Alec Baldwin from the very likable Jack Donoghey.

yeah, I'm kind of picking up now that that was a parody of a speech he made in a movie.

Nah, never been a big Baldwin fan. He sorta creeps me out - looks smarmy - plus, he didn't live up to his promise to leave America if Bush was re-elected!

How does Baldwin not know if his daughter is 11 or 12 years old?

If the judge heard the tape on Wednesday, how can tomorrow be Friday (the 20th)?

Was this call made in March?

Doesn’t Baldwin carry a cell phone? “Made an ass out of himself trying to get to a phone.”

Wasn’t his daughter in school at 10:30 in the morning? Most students aren’t allowed to have cell phones at school.

I don’t think this should have been aired for the child’s sake. That said, I’ll plead guilty to listening to it. I’m not the slightest bit surprised. Alec Baldwin has always been an angry, mean person. I’ve often said that liberals — especially the rich ones — are the most miserable people in the world and I often cite Alec Baldwin and Ted Turner as exhibits “A” and “B”.

My husband saw him on an Amtrack train coming back from DC last week.

Said he looked like a mess and took up a seat and a half.

have you EVER gotten pissed off at your child, lost your temper, and went on a rant, saying things you didn’t really mean?

Sure. But I never demeaned them or my wife. And the things I said that I really didn't mean had to do with threatened restrictions I knew at the time were too harsh.

Let's not compare this rant with typical parent/child behavior or communications. This was way off the board and uncalled for.

Don’t take me for a point I’m not making. In fact I agree generally with what you’re saying.

Every parent makes mistakes and this poor girl is stuck in the middle of a battle between her two liberal hollyweirdo parents and for all we know is siding with, or being used as a tool, by her mother.

However, no one should ever call their daughter a “pig” under any circumstances. There is simply no excuse for that.

However, I never said and I don’t believe that means he should lose visitation rights or have child protective services come pay him a visit or anything else. It just means he’s an A-HOLE, and we all knew that before this story.

This little girl was unlucky enough in the lottery of life to draw two selfish, liberal hollyweirdos as parents and there is a 99.9% chance she is being psychologically screwed up as a result. Some Hollywood therapist is putting a down payment on a new yacht as we speak.

Of course we’ve all lost our tempers with our kids, but to speak to an 11-year-old like this? No way! Have you talked to your kids like that? What Alec said was horrid. That said, I think it was a low blow for it to be aired. (I have to admit to getting a little bit of glee out of seeing him humiliated, though.)

“Don’t take me for a point I’m not making. In fact I agree generally with what you’re saying.”

I wasn’t specifically replying to your post - sorry for not making that clear.
In fact, I didn’t listen to the recording in question - perhaps my reaction would be different if I had, but, really, there are better things to do in life than waste a couple of minutes listening to that liberal jerk berate his offspring.

Surely, Alec would be righteously angered if someone were to ask "how's that pig daughter of yours?".

Alec Baldwin: More proof that liberalism is a mental disorder.

Baldwin is an ass but any divorced man that can not relate to an obvious ex-wife orchestrated teenage daughter estrangment is a very lucky guy.

What a bully Alec Baldwin is.

According to his voicemail rant, today (Friday, the 20th) is the day he was to fly out to LA to "straighten her out".

I'm praying that the little girl is safe from her out-of-control father.

Daddy dearest.

Sounds like the type of abuse individuals with (NPD) Narcissistic Personality Disorder dish out.

I thought he left the country after President Bush was Re-elected. Kim is Available, that’s great news.

Dude, This goes far beyond losing your temper. Alec has a history of abusing Kim, verbally (even in public) and physically. And while I may not be a parent, I was on the receiving end of such tirades far too often in my childhood, which can leave deep scars.

Given his history, and the threat to come out there and straighten her up; if I were the mom, I do whatever was necessary to keep that lunatic away.

I know a lot of fathers get screwed by their ex's in divorce and custody battles, but in this case, Alec has proven (IMHO) yet again, that he is unfit.
