IDF soldiers kill Fatah commander in West Bank
By Avi Issacharoff, Haaretz Correspondent, and Haaretz Service
Palestinian sources said early Monday that Mohammed Abu al-Heija, a leader of the Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades in the Jenin refugee camp, and the deputy of Zakariya Zubeidi, one of the top commanders of the Fatah-linked armed group, was killed in a pre-dawn gun battle with Israel Defense Forces troops in the West Bank camp.
According to the report, the incident took place at about 2:00 A.M. in the camp, a longtime focus of Palestinian militancy.
A little good news to start the first cup with.
The Hamas military wing, under the leadership of Ahmed al-Ja'abari, is launching Qassam rockets from the Gaza Strip, contrary to the opinion of the political leadership of the organization.
After some weeks in which Hamas avoided launching Qassam rockets at Israel from the Gaza Strip, members of Iz a Din al-Kassam have resumed the attacks: During the past two days, at least three rockets were fired at Israel.
We don't need no stinking leadership - in any other organization, this move would have been a career buster.
