I saw a new musical the other night called "Winning."
It was about the election of LBJ in 1948. Everyone in the theatre (except me, of course - ha) looked old enough to have voted in that election.
It seems like only senior citizens and a few die hard musical lovers go to the theatre any more.
But I digress.
The play reminded me that the only way Johnson got elected to the Senate to begin with was blatant fraud. Some guy in west Texas messed with the ballots and before it could get to court, all the evidence somehow went missing.
(remind you of anybody?)
And old LBJ was a horn dog even back then; he even went after Nellie Connolly and John almost left the campaign. She did leave, but finally came back.
Funny how many democrat wives have to put up with horn dog men who mess around on them. LBJ, JFK, BC to name a few recent ones.
Sorry I missed that one ;)
