In response to the democrats passing their ANTI-TROOP bill, President Bush made a statement from the White House, vowing to veto it. “… [this bill] has no chance of becoming law.” Accompanying the president were members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, families of deployed service members and families of those who have paid the ultimate price for our freedom. Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice met with the Iraq Provincial Reconstruction Team at the State Department.

Press Secretary Tony Snow made an announcement about his health at the end of today’s press briefing. (Transcript)

On a lighter note, President and Mrs. Bush welcomed the family of former President Johnson to the Oval Office for the naming of the Lyndon Baines Johnson Department of Education Building. (Click here for more information)

President Bush was also joined in the White House today by Archbishop Demetrios for the proclamation of March 25, 2007 as National Greek Independence Day, “A National Day of Celebration of Greek and American Democracy”. (Transcript)

I get tired of Rush too, saying there's "no conservative leadership" and how he whines for another Reagan.

I would bet you that if Reagan were president now, he'd be dragged through the mud on FR just as much as GWB--and by the very people that seem to deify him.

I think we have all been feeling that way a little bit lately...

I just can't figure out why the talk show hosts..and freepers that worship Reagan feel the need to distort his presidency in order to bash Pres. Bush.

It isn't like Pres. Bush has walked around comparing himself to Ronald Reagan or anything.

PLUS, they are SO myopic that they are demanding the 2008 candidate be "another Ronald Reagan"....which is so bizarre...because usually the people that say that, like Laura Ingraham and others, are the MOST anti-immigrant.

I don't like to point out any of Reagan's faults...I think he was a good POTUS..but I just have to when Prs. Bush is criticized for NOT being enough like him....ARGHHHHHH

The worst part about it was that it was in my driveway, and there I was sitting in the rain, afraid to move for a few minutes and testing to see if I could even stand up.

I was scared to death that the neighbors would come running and I'd have to tell them that I fell down go BOOM right on my driveway. LOL!

Oh, by the way, I guess I should mention this. 1) My sister is in the Army and is heading to FT Campbell Kentucky- three hours away from me! I may get to see my nephew for the first time in 3 years! 2) car situation is worked out- Mom got another car through our church for a buck. Yes, a BUCK! GOD IS GOOD!

There is a picture of Ronald Reagan with a tear running down his cheek and the title is something like "What has happened to the right?"

So here we have the ardent leftists touting Reagan to bash Bush, and they are joined by conservatives who are engaging in the same mythology.

Pretty telling, I'd say.
