Your link clearly shows a failure on your part to understand the differences in "anti-illegal" immigration vs. anti-immigration.
Very few Americans want to close the door on immigrants. We just want immigrants to respect the laws of our nation. That way we can be reasonably sure they will become good citizens.
So now that the Democrats are in charge, lets see what goes to the President. As I said, this should come as no surprise.
Called and e-mailed.
Call made, followed by email!
"Kennedy praised their bill Tuesday" http://blog.frankmorton.com/?p=313
Save yourself the trouble, congress critters, and just change the date on this piece of work: The Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 (IRCA) (P.L. 99-603, 100 Stat. 3359)

I've looked everywhere and I can't seem to find the Bill number. It's all over the press, but for some reason (I can only imagine) they're witholding the Bill Number.

BUMP
I hope the bill has provisions for illegal immigrants to easily take over all government staffing, including education. This could save us a lot in taxes.
I agree with your post and HOPE we have a silver lining. A lady called O'Reilly (radio( the other day. Obviously Hispanic by her statements and 3rd generation. She was conservative and expressed basically what I hope. O'Reilly negated her statement by saying that the religious and moral views are soon changed by the secular American ways. IGuess we hope O'Reilly was wrong and the woman right.
No matter what, 300+ million people with the possibility of more will only destroy our country and what our ancestors built and fought for. Imho the country was built by 1950, as I heard others express. Any immigrants now should be pure necessity not because the government has become the employement agency for business or to bring our standard down to world levels because of "votes".
Called Cong. Buchanan, Florida. His office was very polite. The telephone lines were not jammed as I hoped.
Congressman Holden,
I am writing you today to voice my strenuous objection to the GUTIERREZ/FLAKE Amnesty Bill currently being considered in the House of Representatives. It is my opinion, and that of many other central Pennsylvanians, that until there is a border fence and border security system in place, all you are doing is encouraging even more ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS to violate our sovereignty.
Instead of putting lawbreakers at the head of your list of things to do, finish the job you were elected to do. The money for the border fence was voted on and passed before the November election, and still you in Congress have failed to follow up and do the job you were elected to do.
This is an important part of the overall security issue related to the War on Terror. Please get the border secured before giving illegals consideration. Thank you.
Sincerely,
XXXXXXXX
What a reasonable question but, as yet, no answer.
I live in Los Angeles and I would like to close the doors on immigration, illegal and legal. Until every American has seen what I see every day, there will continue to be a blase approach to immigration ... period.
For example, last Spring when the illegals had their "protest marches" there were LEGAL immigrants from other nations who also joined them, openly complaining about our government and our country. We DO NOT NEED these people. Don't we have more than enought enemies within this nation, as it is?
The illegals WILL take over the government offices. It is called DIVERSITY, not MERIT. Diversity is the Left's way of saying institutionalized discrimination. One green polar bear must be hired before a native born English speaking person and so on down the line.
I have been burned before by information gleened from the Internet. I prefer to wait until I have something solid to complain about. I'll call our moombat's office when I have the bill number.
My wife - who came here legally after we were married abroad - had to jump through innumerable hoops simply to get her visa.
Criminal background checks, medical exam and blood tests, financial investigation (to make sure no unpaid loans were outstanding), new passport, "personal character" interviews of friends and family, etc.
Not to mention the materials I provided to the State Dept., and an emergency trip halfway around the world because the local nationals were screwing up the paperwork.
I should have just brought her over in a steamer trunk.I distinctly recall that we were having this very same discussion on FR the morning of 9/11.
I am back to feeling about GWB now, the way I did that morning.
Finally (as if there is a "finally" on this), I want to see how they;re going to (a) fund 15 million new applications in the immigration system, (b) staff CIS so that it can handle 15 million applicants, and (c) prioritize the millions of outstanding LEGAL applicants who have been in the system for up to 10 or 15 years.
"Politicians ARE the enemy of this country. Their whole immigration deal is about getting votes, citizens be damned!"
Only 1/2 right. Illegals vote, and they do vote, Democrat. This is about money for the Republicans, campaign contributions and more from constituents who need cheap labor.
It's political suicide for Republicans, but they don't care.
