You think he earn some ridicule?

Do you know his heart or mind?

Do you know just like you he too is a child of the Lord?

I didn't read the whole thread, but I don't think anyone claimed that this guy isn't a child of the Lord. I know that I can say, without the slightest doubt, that he's probably ten times the child of the Lord that I am.

As far as whether he earned ridicule or not, I'd have to say yes. He got himself into that situation. I don't have to care what is in his mind because by the fruits of his labors shall we know him. Of course, if he had labored to eat more fruit, he probably wouldn't have gotten into this predicament in the first place.

Hey, I've done stupid things in my life and have received a fair amount of ridicule for some of them. Looking back, I'd have to say that I earned it. It teaches one not to take himself so seriously, and forces one to reexam his own decision-making processes.

I don't care if he got himself into the condition or not, there is no real call for ridiculing a person who has become so large that he cannot even leave his bedroom. You think he doesn't know he's fat? The man, even in his condition, lost nearly 400 pounds. That's an amazing feat. He should be applauded for that and encouraged to continue to meet his goal of slimming down to 265. I can guarantee that if he acheives that goal, he won't stop there. It will be because he has changed his life and his habits forever. I know this because I have a friend who, at his worst, weighed 600lbs. In the span of about a year and a half, he had dropped below 300 and is now in the 220 range. He, like the man in this story, eschewed the surgery route. He did it all through diet and exercise, and there's not a chance he'll ever go back up. And, it should be noted, he never once blamed anyone else for his condition. Like beating alcoholism, it takes being honest with yourself and admitting your own guilt. God bless this man. With a little luck and a lot of work, he may save his life.

I agree we all done stupid things in our life etc.

But look at this thead there hardly anything here to say good about many of us freepers. This man is a stranger no one really knows the circumstance.

A few weeks ago there was an article in the papaer where the government want to take a child away form its mother for being an enabler to her 8 year old son because he was 250 lbs.

Who to say that was not his childhood situation?

The harshness that is going in this thread is not going to help this man it only adds to his situation!.

Who appointed us to judge and to ridicule this man who is trying?

I am sure many have never thought of it that way before and just followed our lower self to demean another human being!

I think in the future when this kind of thing happens on a thread good freepers ought to come forward and remind those who forgot to let their light shine and or say nothing.

Our we any better the DU when this type of behavior takes place?

Have you ever thought how many misplaced souls vote with the DU because they been on the receiving end of this kind of abuse and see us doing this think that is who we really our?

We would like good government let us deserve it, by using our freedoms better than this!
