Hillary Vs. Rudy
US News and World Report ^ | 2/23/07 | Michael Barone

Posted on 02/24/2007 10:59:08 AM PST by Blackirish

snip/National upshot: Rudy's electoral vote position against Hillary is much stronger than Bush's against Kerry. Rudy puts almost the whole East into play and is significantly stronger in several target states in the Midwest and West. Hillary puts some states into play in the South but with many fewer electoral votes than Rudy does elsewhere. Even if you assume that Hillary is stronger against Rudy today than she was in July, the pairing does place the Republicans in a stronger position than Bush was in '04.

Let's get through the primaries before we play this scenario.

I think you Rudybots should propose that the GOP nominate Hillary Clinton as their 2008 candidate. You will then have achieved your goal of getting behind a winning candidate. Which is, as you ENDLESSLY and TEDIOUSLY remind us, the only thing that could possibly matter.

The "Rudybots" as you call 'em, propose to see to it that The Great Satan Hitlery doesn't win in 2008 or ever.

Not being a Rudybot or any other bot for that matter, in the end that's all that will matter. That is unless the GOP rank and file is comfortable with another Clinton presidency.

But that would be useless, not, because Hillary Clinton would ensure defeat in the War on Terror. We Rudybots don't want that. We want to WIN!!!!!!

From the article...

First, there's a huge difference between men and women in almost every state. Hillary carried men only in California (48 to 45 percent), which has 55 electoral votes. Rudy carries women in Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, and Wyoming: 194 electoral votes. That's a huge advantage for Giuliani, though if we assume his lead over Clinton is not as great today as it was last July, not as huge as the contrast between 194 and 55 suggests.

Golly, let's chat. Let's have a conversation. I guess the gals out there aren't digging the coffee klatsch?

"Rino Rudy vs. Hitlary, whoever wins conservatives lose. Big time"

We heard the same kind of talk from the so-called 'real conservatives" in November 2006.
The result?
We ended up with a an extreme left wing crazy, Nancy Pelosi, as the Speaker of the House, and real nightmare for all Republicans.

And that is what will happen if Rion Rudy is nominated. He will split the party and lose.

Did you ever wonder why Hillary Clinton is, apparantly, more tolerable for these REAL conservatives, than is Rudy Giuliani? As someone aptly stated, they expect caviar, but will not settle for steak, so they get rotten eggs.

"And that is what will happen if Rion Rudy is nominated. "

Rudy wasn't nominated in 2006, and we still lost big time, including conservatives like Rick Santorum.

"He will split the party and lose."

So far there is no evidence in the polls to support that assertion. In fact most of the polls so far show the exact opposite.

And not to mention a nightmare for our troops. Call me any "bot" name you want; I'm a big girl, I can handle it. I want my country to win the war and wipe out terrorism. The other issues won't mean a hill of beans if we're all dead.
