Maybe we can have some spam from last century to refute what he said tonight.

Normal Seigel and the ACLU were in court challenging every single thing he tried to do. you can see his contempt for that judge in that short quote.

here's another issue - Rudy on Elian Gonzales:

http://archives.cnn.com/2000/ALLPOLITICS/stories/04/25/elian.campaign/index.html

"Meanwhile, New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani's continued assertions that the INS agents engaged in "storm trooper" tactics drew a sharp response from his Senate rival, first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton, who called the remarks "extreme and unwarranted."

Beginning shortly after Saturday's raid, the Republican mayor said the immigration agents had "trampled the wishes of his mother ... with guns and with storm troopers."

On Sunday, Giuliani again referred to the agents as "storm troopers, saying that he "couldn't imagine that something like this could happen in America."

are these the words of a liberal? really, I ask any of the Rudy critics here. not that there aren't legitimate issues regarding Rudy, but would a liberal make the statement above?

Now where's the voting record?

In laws he signed or didn't.

(I did provide a link, yes?)

I am with you -- he articulated very well where he stood on the issues which went right over the head of some of the anti-Rudy crowd on here.

I was impressed!

Ditto that. And some of the bashers here never even heard him tonight. They remind me of some of my neighbors who just recite "Bush Sucks."

Yes, it settled alot. It certainly settled the fact that some particular chart going around has many inaccuracies.

The Real Rudy Giuliani:

From Human Events:

Rudy's Strong Pro-Abortion Stance

As these comments from a 1989 conversation with Phil Donahue show, Rudy Giuliani is staunchly in favor of abortion:

"I've said that I'll uphold a woman's right of choice, that I will fund abortion so that a poor woman is not deprived of a right that others can exercise, and that I would oppose going back to a day in which abortions were illegal.

I do that in spite of my own personal reservations. I have a daughter now; if a close relative or a daughter were pregnant, I would give my personal advice, my religious and moral views ...

Donahue: Which would be to continue the pregnancy.

Giuliani: Which would be that I would help her with taking care of the baby. But if the ultimate choice of the woman - my daughter or any other woman - would be that in this particular circumstance [if she had] to have an abortion, I'd support that. I'd give my daughter the money for it."

Worse yet, Giuliani even supports partial birth abortion:

"I'm pro-choice. I'm pro-gay rights,Giuliani said. He was then asked whether he supports a ban on what critics call partial-birth abortions. "No, I have not supported that, and I don't see my position on that changing," he responded." -- CNN.com, "Inside Politics" Dec 2, 1999

It's bad enough that Rudy is so adamantly pro-abortion, but consider what that could mean when it comes time to select Supreme Court Justices. Does the description of Giuliani that you've just read make you think he's going to select an originalist like Clarence Thomas, who would vote to overturn Roe v. Wade -- or does it make you think he would prefer justices like Sandra Day O'Connor and Anthony Kennedy who'd leave Roe v. Wade in place?

Rudy's abortion stance is bad news for conservatives who are pro-life or who are concerned about getting originalist judges on the Supreme Court.

An Anti-Second Amendment Candidate

In the last couple of election cycles, 2nd Amendment issues have moved to the back burner mainly because even Democratic candidates have learned that being tagged with the "gun grabber" label is political poison.

Unfortunately, Rudy Giuliani is a proponent of gun control who supported the Brady Bill and the Assault Weapon Ban.

Do Republicans really want to abandon their strong 2nd Amendment stance by selecting a pro-gun control nominee?

His signature on legislation isn't a vote.

The link you provided doesn't show a voting record.

I've forgotten, at the time, was there a legal reason, or was it simply her choice.

but Rudy is a lot easier to take than some of the bottom-feeders out there.

Isn't that the truth? I agree with everything you have said. Personally I prefer Rudy because of his strong stance on the WOT and his clear articulation that Iraq is not the end of the WOT and how they want to kill us.

(Boy, he calls them as he sees them! Good for him. Maybe some of this PC-ness will become a thing of the past in his administration"

Rudy always tells it like it is.

That is why the slimeball libs hated him in NY.

Rudy stood up to the race baiters, pornographers, drug dealers, criminals and media.

This man will never waiver in the War on Islamic Fascists.

He is the man who will never forget 9/11 and will never allow the world to forget it.

I am very surprised at the overwhelmingly positive comments here on FR.

If he can make it here, he'll make it anywhere.

I feel more positive now about '08 than I've ever felt.

I will contribute to and volunteer to work in his campaign.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!

GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS!

GOD BLESS OUR COURAGEOUS PRESIDENT!

GODSPEED TO RUDY!)

My sentiments exactley....Go Rudy!.You got my vote and anything I can do for your campaign.
He is the only one that can keep the the Arkansasn grifters from re pillaging the WH and the country.

While he was the “Republican Mayor” of New York City he appointed more than 60 men and women to the Civil, Criminal, and Family Court benchs. In all of those judicial appointment not one of them was a Republican.

All of his judical appointments were either registered Liberals or registered Democrats. As the “Republican Mayor” he had appointment power over more than 70 full commissioners in more than 50 City agencies, yet at no time during his administration did REPUBLICANS account for more than 10% of those appointments.

He even appointed Chuck Schumers wife as the City’s Department of Transportation Commissioner.
