but rudy can win, and that's all that matters.

No, that's not all that matters. But out of those that we know that are running, the only ones I can see winning are Rudy, McCain or Romney. Of those three, my choice is Rudy.

If some of the supporters of the other candidates can show me how and why they'll win, I'm willing to listen. But so far I haven't been convinced.

the problem is the general election is 22 months away. Everyone that is running hasn't announced yet. But that hasn't stopped the fans of rudy and romney from pronouncing, with much certainty, that they're the only ones that can win.

Declaring that at this point is idiotic. It's nothing more than popularity and personality at this point for support. They lambaste any conservative candidate because 'nobody knows them' before one single debate or campaign dollar has been spent promoting them.

The whole mentality of YOU MUST NAME WHO YOU SUPPORT NOW! is ridiculous at this point. But what is known at this point is :
1. the positions of the declared candidates
2: how those positions play with the power base of the republican party, and
3: what happens to the republican party when RINOs run for national office.

Those things ARE known and are the things that MUST be brought to light and discussed at this point before 2008 becomes a RINO trainwreck. The problem is the rudy / romney fans either don't want to address them, say they don't matter, or complain when they're brought up.
