You are not a conservative because you don't agree with the social conservative contingent made up of a lot of Keyes supporters as they have become the judge and jury of who is and who is not a conservative on here.
They want to make this site so that only 'true' and 'pure' conservatives can talk to each other and the rest of us need to go form our own site. After having going through the 2006 election in OK brought to you by the social conservatives when we took a bath statewide, I am in no mood to be told I am not conservative enough. I am a rock ribbed conservative Republican and have been for my whole adult life but I also know what it takes to win elections and we have to win in 2008 for the White House or every issue we have advanced is going down the tubes.
Count me a pragmatic Republican to who losing is not an option! Not going to change my stance that my #1 issue is national security, and then smaller government, less taxes, law and order, and strict constitutionalist judges which covers social issues. One issue people need to quit drinking the koolaid and see what just a few weeks of power for the DemocRATs after being returned in the House and Senate has done. It is horrible what they are doing to our national security with their words and in turn harming our military. All the terrorist have to do is hold out for a DemocRAT to take the WH and they are home free because appeasers will be in charge.
I will fight as hard as I can to see Rudy gets the nomination because he will stand up against the terrorist and for our military who are standing up for all of us around the World.
If social conservatives don't like the fact that I support someone with backbone who stands up then I say -- tough. You had your chance in OK in the last election and blew it. Now it is time for Conservative Republican who believe in strong national security to turn out to the polls in the primaries in record numbers.
Then why are your supporting Rudy?
I'll grant you that he has backbone. Too bad it's in the same sense that Chuck Schumer "has backbone." IOW, in defense of liberalism and against conservatives and conservatism.
