just back from store & running out again shortly.. but first of all .. a big welcome to you..

second.. I was a dancer also.. years ago. Auditioned for George Balanchine - made the NYCB BUT living on 25/week at age 16 in NYC (when parents couldn't help) was out of question.

To: DollyCali; All

Thank you very much for the warm welcome and the beautiful Menorah.

DollyCali: when did you audition for Balanchine? Was this for the school or did you make it into the company as corps de ballet or apprentice? Were you a graduate of the School of American Ballet (the Company's school)?

NYCB seldom tours, but I did see them several years and ago and reviewed them. One of my friends is a retired NYCB principal dancer - she retired in the 1960's and is still in great shape and very beautiful.
