"I simply don't believe these numbers. There was an agenda, from the get go, to demonstrate how much immigrants "benefit" the state."

I am not going to argue either way but do keep in mind that Texas does not have a State income tax and therefore most taxes come from sales tax which the illegals do pay. California on the other hand is in a very different situation by having a State income tax which the illegals do not pay into.

I'll up the ante on that one, in Oregon, we have NO sales tax, but a hefty state income tax.

Not really. If texas switched to an income tax, you would find business would have to pay their workers more to cover the cost of the tax and then they would raise prices accordingly.

What I am saying is THE INCOME TAX IS EMBEDDED IN THE COST OF GOODS SOLD AND IS PAID BY THE CONSUMER.

If illegals hurt California so much, how come California is the richest state in the union? California's GDP (excluding the entire rest of USA) would rank it 5th in the world as a stand-alone economic power.
