Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church, Katharine Jefferts-Schori

What is your view on intelligent design?

I firmly believe that evolution ought to be taught in the schools as the best witness of what modern science has taught us. To try to read the Bible literalistically about such issues disinvites us from using the best of recent scholarship.

Is belief in Jesus the only way to get to heaven?

We who practice the Christian tradition understand him as our vehicle to the divine. But for us to assume that God could not act in other ways is, I think, to put God in an awfully small box.

I've been hearing that many of the continuing and "common cause" churches are joining up. One estimate was that we would have nearly 250 parishes & missions joining into the Diocese of San Joaquin by the end of 2007. I've hoped that one way or another we could be united with Christ the King.

In any event it's great to be done with ECUSA!

If you note, the word "conservative" is use SEVEN times to decribe one faction, including FOUR times in the first four paragraps, yet nowhere is the term "liberal" used..

My EYES! She's the Helen Thomas of the Episcopal Church.

Seriously, Madam Schori's belief system is no different from that of the Communist Party.

Schiori is not much different from the bishops who collaborated with the Communists in Russia to destroy the faith.

Mainstream denominations, Christian and Jewish are dying just like the mainstream media.

Episcopal Churches to Vote on Departure
Fairfax [VA] Congregations Dismayed by Direction
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/12/03/AR2006120301186.html?nav=rss_email/components

Two of the country's largest and most historic Episcopal congregations -- both in Fairfax County -- will vote next week on whether to leave the U.S. church on ideological grounds and affiliate instead with a controversial Nigerian archbishop. The decision could lead to a bitter court battle and the loss of $25 million in property.

It's about time!!!

1 Corinthians 5:11-13
 11.  But now I am writing you that you must not associate with anyone who calls himself a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a slanderer, a drunkard or a swindler. With such a man do not even eat.
 12.  What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside?
 13.  God will judge those outside. "Expel the wicked man from among you."

Your homepage looks fine on my monitor now. A couple of weeks ago, things were over lapping.

Is there a reputable, free website for uploading Word documents onto the internet (privately, so others can't see)?

I do not quite understand this.

Do you want to have something on the 'net that is only password accessible? or do you want it accessible to all, but the actual SOURCE of the document hidden? Or maybe something else?

... for Episcopalians who still want the traditional services ...

As long as you don't let 'the traditions of men' become more important than preaching the Gospel...

We who practice the Christian tradition understand him as our vehicle to the divine.

But for us to assume that God could not act in other ways is, I think, to put God in an awfully small box.

John 14:6  Jesus answered,
"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. "

NIV Acts 17:16-23
 16.  While Paul was waiting for them in Athens, he was greatly distressed to see that the city was full of idols.
 17.  So he reasoned in the synagogue with the Jews and the God-fearing Greeks, as well as in the marketplace day by day with those who happened to be there.
 18.  A group of Epicurean and Stoic philosophers began to dispute with him. Some of them asked, "What is this babbler trying to say?" Others remarked, "He seems to be advocating foreign gods." They said this because Paul was preaching the good news about Jesus and the resurrection.
 19.  Then they took him and brought him to a meeting of the Areopagus, where they said to him, "May we know what this new teaching is that you are presenting?
 20.  You are bringing some strange ideas to our ears, and we want to know what they mean."
 21.  (All the Athenians and the foreigners who lived there spent their time doing nothing but talking about and listening to the latest ideas.)
 22.  Paul then stood up in the meeting of the Areopagus and said: "Men of Athens! I see that in every way you are very religious.

NIV Acts 18:11
So Paul stayed for a year and a half, teaching them the word of God.

NIV Acts 21:19-22
 19.  Paul greeted them and reported in detail what God had done among the Gentiles through his ministry.
 20.  When they heard this, they praised God. Then they said to Paul: "You see, brother, how many thousands of Jews have believed, and all of them are zealous for the law.
 21.  They have been informed that you teach all the Jews who live among the Gentiles to turn away from Moses, telling them not to circumcise their children or live according to our customs.

NIV 1 Corinthians 4:17
For this reason I am sending to you Timothy, my son whom I love, who is faithful in the Lord. He will remind you of my way of life in Christ Jesus, which agrees with what I teach everywhere in every church.

NIV 1 Corinthians 11:2-3
I praise you for remembering me in everything and for holding to the teachings,  just as I passed them on to you.

NIV Colossians 1:28-29
We proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ.

NIV 2 Thessalonians 2:15-16
So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the teachings  we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.

NIV 1 Timothy 2:7-8
And for this purpose I was appointed a herald and an apostle--I am telling the truth, I am not lying--and a teacher of the true faith to the Gentiles.

NIV 1 Timothy 6:1
All who are under the yoke of slavery should consider their masters worthy of full respect, so that God's name and our teaching may not be slandered.

NIV 2 Timothy 1:11
And of this gospel  I was appointed a herald and an apostle and a teacher.

NIV 2 Timothy 1:13
What you heard from me, keep as the pattern of sound teaching, with faith and love in Christ Jesus.

NIV 2 Timothy 3:14-15
 14.  But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it,
 15.  and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.

Someone has wandered away from the Truth!

James 5
 19.  My brothers, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring him back,
 20.  remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save him from death and cover over a multitude of sins.

Basically a place that ordinary documents made on a computer can be uploaded onto the internet so that they can be retrieved from many computers, rather than the one on which it was made (and if there isn't a portable storage device).

Many freepers kindly helped to get a FRhomepage organized on Internet Explorer. It should look organized, now.

The decision could lead to a bitter court battle and the loss of $25 million in property.

Matthew 24:1-2
 1.  Jesus left the temple and was walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its buildings.
 2.  "Do you see all these things?" he asked. "I tell you the truth, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down."

Acts 19:18-20
 18.  Many of those who believed now came and openly confessed their evil deeds.
 19.  A number who had practiced sorcery brought their scrolls together and burned them publicly. When they calculated the value of the scrolls, the total came to fifty thousand drachmas.
 20.  In this way the word of the Lord spread widely and grew in power.

I guess just anyplace that a BLOG is located would fulfill what you wish to do.

or...

Most ISP's that a person is associated with allows a certain amount of disc space that can be used for your own purposes. Each ISP is a bit different on HOW that can be accomplished.

Basically, mainstream religion is a bunch of social good works programs, rather than focused on God?

Doctrinally, "mainstream religion" is the assertion that the gospel is not itself but rather, something else in drag. Almost universally, the "something else" is the philosophical fad of the previous generation. Liberation theology, for example, asserts that the gospel is actually Marxism in drag. If those who marry the spirit of the times are soon widowed, what can we say of those who marry intellectual corpses, the obsolete, passe, quaint, outmoded, spirit of the previous generation? Philosophical necrophiliacs, perhaps? Frankly, I'd rather be united to the Risen and ever-living Christ!

Do these people have any idea how pathetic they look trying to slavishly ape dated notions they think are fashionable, and au courant?
