Conservatives can never trust the author of the McCain-Feingold Campaign Finance Reform Bill. He stomped all over the First Amendment with that, and he doesn't support the Second Amendment. Why would he think any conservative would vote for such an anti-liberty agenda?

When will we have a nominee that wouldn't look a fool speaking to the Federalist Society?

McCain should just go form a club for Senate Gigolos with Kerry and live happily in obscurity for evermore.

In his speech to a packed ballroom at a Washington hotel, McCain assured the group that despite last weeks sobering election returns for Republicans, the election was not an affirmation of the other partys program." ... That part is true.

the American cause. Please, please....just go

Does he think we're that stupid? McCain (R-Media) will NEVER get the nomination. His "Gang of 14" screwed us with the judges for years, and now we're stuck with Plug-head as Chairman.

Which of Keating's 5 was McCain? (In importance.)
To: freespirited
Yup, that's it. That's the only reason we can't stand him. Way to cut right to the chase Big Media.
because he has never shared their enthusiasm for such causes as banning same-sex marriage.

Ya gotta love McCain. The guy has crust. Now that he really can't do any more damage, I wonder if there is some way to get him to switch parties.

proud of my role persuading my fellow Republican senators to respect the limits of our own power and not abolish the (judicial) filibuster rule. ... Exhibit 357 of poor judgment is herewith appended.

What's his line this time -- that the middle finger stands for number 1?
To: freespirited
I bet he would WACO any gangs that came up against him as president.
I fully expect McCain to be Hillry's running mate then the evolution of 'doing things smarter and better' would conclude with 'commonsense'.

John McCain is a GAS BAG!
To: freespirited
He probably can't be trusted, but this is a smart move on his part. The only way he'll win the nomination is if he convinces enough of the base that he is a stalwart ally on judges.
