The 100%ers were not only pimping Allen as not only a better candidate than Giuliani a few weeks ago -- they were pimping him as the savior of the Republican Party. Like Talent, Allen went down in flames in a Confederate red state.
Meanwhile, Schwarzenegger completely wiped out his opponent in the reddest of states: California. Winning doesn't take going to the dark side-- getting 80% of what you want is better than 0%. And if you care about the issues that really matter to the electorate-- Terrorism, and the Economy -- you'll put forth the best candidate that can articulate them front and center.
Letting Hillary talk about terrorism and the economy while we bs about gays and stemcells isn't going to hack it. If it didn't work for Allen and Talent, I see no reason why your strategy will work nationally.
You are delusional.
Letting Hillary talk about terrorism and the economy while we bs about gays and stemcells isn't going to hack it.
We were the ones who ran on the war on terror and the economy and lost this election. Even though we had high marks on both.
I'm surprised you didn't notice that, perhaps you were vacationing on a deserted South Sea isle throughout the whole election. I'm envious!
No doubt you also missed the overwhelming passage in Virginia of a constitutional ban on same sex unions.
No one can argue that it was not strongly suported by moderates.
To fill in a little more that you missed: Allen and Burns did not lose because they were too conservative. Both of their opponents were to the right of Rudy.
Instead of indulging in your long frustrated jealousy of conservatives you Rudy supporters should be encouraging him to strongly renounce his liberal credentials.
They would doom his candidacy even if he got the nomination.
