Murtha, READ THE CONSTITUTION and you will find that it's you that has no power over the conduct of the war other than funding it and I'm sure you don't want our brave troops killed because you refused them the funds needed? Previous Presidents and congress already knew there would be idiots like you so they spelled it out in terms even you should be able to understand.

He's already beginning to sound a little bit like Newt Gingrich circa 1995: "President Clinton is irrelevant". Three years later Clinton was still maneuvering the smoke and mirrors, and Newt was on the outside looking in.

Winning is not a strategy, victory is not a strategy.

He's right. These are goals. Strategy is what achieves the goal.

What is Murtha's goal? What are the Democrat goals?

Hey, Murtha: In a war for our very survival, failure is not an option. Casting your lot with the enemies of our civilization ought to have dire consequences, preferrably those found at the end of a knotted rope. The President has the powers vested in him by the Constitution that you swore to uphold. If you have a problem with that, resign your office, go to Iraq, put on a f***ing robe and join our adversaries. Otherwise, please STFU.

Listen, this is not a dictatorship. The President can say all he wants to. The President has, has no power. The President is a, a perception of power. And he’s lost that power in this election.

I'd like to hear this senile old SOB say that when the Queen becomes President. Can you say mysterious fatal accident?

Attention John Murtha:
You might want to pull out your pocket edition of the US Constitution.

Section 2

Clause 1:

The President SHALL BE Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States; he may require the Opinion, in writing, of the principal Officer in each of the executive Departments, upon any Subject relating to the Duties of their respective Offices, and he shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offences against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment.

Clause 2:

HE SHALL HAVE Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to make Treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur; and HE SHALL NOMINATE, and by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, Judges of the supreme Court, and all other Officers of the United States, whose Appointments are not herein otherwise provided for, and which shall be established by Law: but the Congress may by Law vest the Appointment of such inferior Officers, as they think proper, in the President alone, in the Courts of Law, or in the Heads of Departments.

Clause 3:

The President shall have Power to fill up all Vacancies that may happen during the Recess of the Senate, by granting Commissions which shall expire at the End of their next Session.
-----
Seems, Mr. Murtha, that you're the one with no power in regards to the conduct of the war or of the nation's foreign policy. Go pound sand. OBTW, you and your power mad party might want to pay attention to Clause 3. Hold up the President's nominees and you'd better not take a recess. ^_^

Yeah, the stupid voters of America sure did this country a favor keeping this treasonous pig in office. Washington is truly a total mess now, and now further from NOT being a government for and by the people....

You get what you vote for, or don't vote for, whichever applies. People get the government they deserve...

there is a fallback position.

Iraq should be broken up,
just doing that would be a big improvement
from the Saddam era

It's scary to think that there's a guy this nutso running around loose in Pennsylvania. It's far FAR scarier to think that there are 120,567 lunatics in the same district that pulled the lever for this idiot. (Well, at least a few thousand imbeciles, plus a hundred thousand or so fake voters brought to us by ACORN.)

lalapelosi said the same thing to Brit Hume. Winning isn't important, winning can be anything we say it is. We just need to solve the situation.

These people aren't ready for township committee members.

This man is mentally ill - and people actually voted for this. What a district that must be up there.

I guess Murtha will be pushing for their redeployment to Okinawa.

Waxman calls it oversight.

New Left Stalinist, America-is-bad “Oversight” and an American wartime administration (redux):

It means harass, harry, hound, badger, pester, plague, bait, annoy, bother, irk, plague, hector, nag, pester, keep after, torment, distress, browbeat, bully, bait, heckle, needle, ride, tease, rib; also, to trouble persistently or incessantly; systematic persecution by besieging with repeated annoyances, threats, demands, or misfortunes; unrelenting pursuit to gain a desired end; to nag or tease persistently; to inflict a succession of petty annoyances; the infliction of tribulations, such as worry or vexation, likened to an epidemic disease; to torment by or as if by taunting, insulting, or ridiculing. (Thank you, American Heritage)

In a word, Watergate.

For the U.S. military the word is BOHICA.

For our Iraqi friends the word could very well be Bloodbath II.

"Winning is not a strategy, victory is not a strategy."

That's right. Winning and victory are goals, not strategy.

"here’s a plan that we have, and Speaker Pelosi has signed on to the plan I have,...redeployment of our troops"

That means bring the troops back home. What will that accomplish. It will romove the only effective opposition present in Iraq and the region to the jihadis recapturing control of Iraq. Jihadis recapturing control of Iraq is what the goof murtha is after. He calls that condition "stability". Yeah, that's a plan. Give the jihadis a stable environmnet to opperate in. They can then procede to kill off the peaceful folks, burn down the oil industry and cut global warming significantly.

I'd rather turn murtha into an aerosol cloud in the stratosphere to cut global warming. That's my plan.
