"yes. the american people are going to get the lesson they deserve, but at what cost?"

"the american people." ain't no such thing. "the american people" have been transformed into the american, brilliant, educated (indoctrinated), socialist intelligentsia who know so much better thatn everyone else.

"the american people" is a breed that has been extinct for a long time.

Put down the bong and back away slowly.

So you're telling me that the CNN sniper video, the NYT leaks, don't amount to behavior worthy of at least an investigation?

So you're telling me that this disgusting agit-prop for political gain to affect the outcome of this election did not put our country or our troops in danger?

Is that what you're telling me?

Bush need to come out swinging

And you can keep you GD bong, putz.

What's he supposed to do, call her what we call her?

If he did I would give my life savings to the RNC for providing me with the biggest laugh ever!

Who is this little weasle who just asked a question? "If Mr. ROVE had any do-overs..." Jerk.

And if they do, they will end up hurting no one but themselves.

Impeaching Clinton did nothing except hurt the GOP.

It's not clear to me whether Rummy wants to leave or not. I wouldn't blame him if he finally said "enough."

Yes. I really don't think I care to be here much anymore. I will probably lurk and chat with a few people over in general, but I am and will always be a Bush supporter, and I am obviously in the minority with this crowd.

Let's see how well they do over the next few years pushing their hard line brand of conservatism to a nation that is moving increasingly left.

Pfui. I am going elsewhere...this thread is disgusting.

"spending money like drunken sailors"

And I can't wait to see fiscally conservative Democrates wake up to that, as the impending tax burden becomes due, repeatedly.

1. Spending is a ridiculous single-issue item. It costs money to run an empire. PERIOD.

2. Taxes are not a strong campaign issue. Most people don't pay enough taxes for it to be important to them. The majority of voters are more concerned with the ATM transaction fee than tax reduction.

It's this "yesterday's papers" approach to politics and not enough in your face campaigning. Where was the political ad showing the people on top of the roof of the Saigon Embassy clawing each other's eyes out trying to get onto the last helicopter out of Vietnam.

With the sound of those chopper blades going full bore and the voice over saying, "The last time a Democratic congress had a voice in running a war, this is what happened."

Believe me, Bush is not looking good in this presser. He should have just come out, made the announcement and that's it, IMHO. It's going on and on and he's stumbling and mumbling to the pack of wolves, aka The Media. C-SPIN will probably be gleefully re-running this thing all night.

As someone else said on this thread, this is as painful as yesterday's election.

I have to run for now... be back later. I think I need a break from all of this anyway...

I'm sure Rummy and his family will be relieved that it's over--to some extent, anyway. Hopefully, some of the most vicious attacks against him will stop.

Ed Koch Predicts Push to Impeach Bush

NEWSMAX

Some congressional leaders will push for President Bush's impeachment now that the Democrats have taken control of the House and possibly the Senate, former New York Mayor Ed Koch predicts.

"I expect that [Rep. John] Conyers as chairman [of the House Judiciary Committee], now with great freedom, will do anything he can to commence such impeachment or investigatory activity, and we'll see whether Pelosi will prevent it," Koch says.

He agreed to the Japanese stipulation, hence it was very much a conditional surrender.

That was a back-room diplomatic deal -- it was still officially, publicly, an unconditional surrender. By not hanging the emperor, Truman allowed the Japanese to save a little face, and gained a pliant figurehead who would be helpful in rebuilding and reforming Japan.

...And that is the key. The GOP is to rebuild the team and bring its A game in 2 years because the nation is going to get front row seats to why you need to have conservitives who want to serve.

So, dems win and conservatives blame republicans? Is that better? That helps?

My own hope is that Rummy will take this as an opportunity to come out and be interviewed,,,, and let his views fly.

We need someone to come out and call a spade a spade.

Rummy might be just the man to come out and talk to the U.S. and the world.

I hope so.
