Bush is dead wrong in thinking he can work with the RATS.

Could someone please explain to me why Bush can't or won't learn this lesson?

They run Congress now!! Duh! What is he supposed to do?

FR has become a mirror of DU on election night 2002 and 2004.

Just less profanity.

They're not going to be able to run hard left on every issue because they know it would put too many of the seats at risk in 2008.

Watch 'em and then be befuddled as the media hypes up their legislation. You just don't get it. To them, it is not about keeping the power, it is about enacting their socialism when they get the power. Then we spend time trying to get rid of their crap when we regain power. And we are only able to fix a fraction. Look at all of the New Deal crap we are still dealing with. Did the Republican Congress back our President when he tried to reform SS? No. What about tax reform. Anything come of that recently?

And just FYI for anyone paying attention, this isn't 1986 or 1994. This is the first time the Dems have had power post-Iraq war. Reagan had Mutually Assured Destruction. Clinton hid and ran. Now the islamists have seen us flinch. What happened the last time we flinched?

To the dim's, he is showing his weakness. The turn the other cheek stuff was tried...it didn't work.

The muzzies have been emboldened and they view the US as weak too.

I shudder to think what will happen next.

I just don't think he's a nice guy anymore. That's childish behavior and even a child should be taught what accountability looks like.

Sorry bud, bullying doesn't work.

And I've already made clear that I am very upset about the Republican loss last night, so your other comment isn't worthy of a response.

I think they are serious about wanting change in the GOP....serious enough that they actually stayed home and let Pelosi et come in charge....

She wouldn't have to mind anyone's business if you weren't a smart mouth trying to pick fights. I was perfectly happy how things were. You don't talk to me, I don't talk to you. Be a man and go back to that. Don't address me, and I can happily pretend you don't exist. Unless you want to pick fights, there won't be any more posts between us. Have a good life.

The Kennedy McCain Immigration Bill now passes the house. The United States of Mexico is your new homeland.

Right you are, good thing I have "educacion espanola at Home" on TV right now...getting ready to start pushing #2 on the phone, or will it be for English push 2?

OK, I will get it to you.

I owe you an apology. A few weeks ago, I said that the Repubs were going to win hands down, and I was wrong. I will double check my confidence from now on.

Life goes on until the next 9/11.

Indeed. Terrorists will bring the fight here.

As a soon-to-be-father (first baby due in April), I shudder to think what kind of country my child will grow up in.

We have only lost the house and senate. We have not lost against terror. No matter what it takes, as long as we face what it takes, our children will remain free.

Congratulations on your firstborn.

I enjoy Rush but a great deal of his claim to fame is his certainty. He believes a few basic things and decides all things by this ideological certainty. Isiah Berlin would term Rush a "hedgehog" in the sense he sticks to his ideology and little or nothing else.

On the other hand the President is more of a "Fox." Isiah Berlin described these people as flexible, reflective and prone to self criticism.

Of course people vary on the Fox/Hedgehog continuum and may change from one to the other over time.

Hedgehogs are like Churchill. When they succeed they do so memorably. Foxes are more flexible according to the circumstances they find and Eisenhower would be an example.

It is easy to pick apart a Fox but it is hard to run the world on the limited ideology of hedgehogs.
