Associated Press WorldStream
via NewsEdge

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Comedian and actor Katt Williams was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport after a stolen gun was found in his briefcase, airport police said.

The 35-year-old comedian was arrested shortly after 4:30 p.m. Monday (0030 GMT) after he was stopped at a security checkpoint, airport police Officer Belinda Nettles said.

"An unknown object popped up on the X-ray monitor," and a search of his briefcase turned up an unloaded gun that was found to have been reported stolen, Nettles said.

Williams was taken to a city police station and booked under the name of Micah S. Katt Williams for investigation of illegally possessing a firearm, Nettles said."

"'Spider Girl' gang held in Chile"
By Jane Chambers
BBC News, Santiago

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Police have arrested two members of one of Chile's most notorious gangs, known as the Spider Girls.
The all-girl gang of teenagers were infamous for climbing up buildings in Santiago to burgle luxury apartments.

In a spate of high-profile robberies in 2005, they made off with thousands of pounds worth of jewellery.

Their arrests have sparked off a debate about the country's judicial system as juveniles, under the age of 18, receive lower sentences."
