Thank you for your answer.
I thought a October Surprise might be some sort of natural phenomenon, like aurora borealis. Stupid me.

Somehow when I read this article I had a flashbackd to the bathroom scene in the Austin Powers movie.
"Ma....aan! What did you eat?!"

".....natural phenomenon.....According to Democrats in America, who have no sense of humor, it is a natural phenomenon, and they fear it.
According to Republicans in America, who have a well-balanced sense of reality, it's a fantasy, this "October Surprise."
But it's fun to watch for, anyway.

So true! :)
..I'm almost a Florida native having lived here 31 years....
..and it is a lovely place, but we have our share of snakes....really nasty snakes..
..plus other assorted critters, like alligators!...(which I've found in my own back yard, as I live on a small lake)

"I lifted the seat and was about to sit down....."
The entire contraption is called a seat, cuz when the lid is closed the fixture can be considered to be a "seat".

Hey Dolly, how goes it? This has to be one of the funniest things I've read in a while!

This has to be pretty much the best thread EVER.

We could ask Alaska to send you some of their mosquitos. I understand that some of them require aircraft carriers to land on.

Years ago I was living in Okinawa when there was an extreme water shortage. Because of the lack of pressure in the empty water pipes, all sorts of vermin sneaked in through the cracks into the system.
Here is one similar to the one I found reaching up for me as I was sleepily sitting down on the toilet at 3 AM. I fortunately happened to look down just as I as I sat down. Needless to say, my scream woke everybody in the house.
The picture is about his actual size...

Some of my friends have been in Florida. Great place for a vacation, but too hot and humid for me.
Your alligators would probably not survive a typical Norwegian Summer.

Thank you for your comments.
We do have our share of huge mosquitos. They can make your life utterly miserable, but will not kill you.

I would have trouble surviving a typical Norwegian Summer if it's as cold as I think it is!
My blood is too thin.

Thanks for the ping. I wonder what kind of python it was. If it really was six feet long, it might have been some kind of burmese or reticulated python. Those aren't the kind that I keep. Some pythons are pretty valuable. Imagine opening the toilet lid to find something worth a couple of thousand dollars.
