Hey...since when is voting "Republican" the acid test for character? We commonly riducule yellow-dog Democrats...those voters who would vote for an old yella dog, if he was on the D side of the ticket.
The same kind of unthinking party loyalty is just as contemptible on the R side of the ticket. It wasn't political parties that made this country what it once was and could be again; it was adherence to principle.

Character is putting your country over your personal agenda.
But you knew that.

"Hey...since when is voting "Republican" the acid test for character?"
Ever since the opposite of "Republican" became "Democrat" on most ballots. As has been stated countless times on this website, vote for the most conservative candidate in the primary, and vote for the Republican in the general election. If a person espouses conservative values but thinks giving democrats the leadership of our Congress is a good way to "Deliver a Spanking", they reveal a true shallowness of character and a patently immature lack of judgment.

Who says it's unthinking party loyalty? Are you paying attention to this thread? Republican are the only ones with stones enough to jettison their garbage in the primaries. Only then do you do the best you can with the team you made. That's right. We make our team, for better or worse.
