A few years ago, mom needed to call the local grain elevator for dad to get the daily price quote of wheat, so she grabbed the phonebook and called the grain elevator's 800 number and got the shock of her life. Because of a typo in the phonebook, the grain elevator's phone number was for a XXX dating service. The phone company (who contracts the phonebook publishing service to a third party) issued a correction and apology in the next weekly newspaper.
