Before you know it, the Democrats will claim that the Commander in Chief himself is gay. (After all, they're everywhere - I think we need a Congressional Investigation.)

There is a very logical (if the gay perspective could ever be considered logical) explanation for these rumors. The outed gay community is very disdainful of those gays that chose to hide their orientation. Outed gays, feeling that only they can be "experts" on gay identification, make observations of all heterosexual individuals labeling some as gay, based on behaviors thought by them to be gay indicators. Those indicators may be as simple as the company one keeps.

Outed gays are often liberal democrats due to voting alliances. These people believe they can identify closeted gays and speculate on republicans who might be in the closet. Due to their dislike of conservative republicans politically and their loathing of gays who won't out themselves, there is great interest in going after people like Foley, and in starting rumors about Hastert. They are no more accurate than heterosexuals who engage in this practice, they just think they are.
