"Experiencing life shouldn't include the illegal use of drugs, alchohol, or any other substance that will alter your personality. If you think that by giving your children free reign to "experience life" you did them any favors your wrong. Discipline and accountability are much more important for children than leniency and freedom. IMO, your parenting style is both irresponsible and unaccountable. A parent is and should always be accountable for the actions of their children. If you think otherwise, than we can end this argument, because I honestly don't agree with any other parenting style. If you want to call me too strict so be it. BTW, until children reach voting age they have no rights and privilages other than those granted them by their parents. Unfortunately some children are given more rope than they deserve and end up hanging themselves or others in the process of "experiencing life"."

Obviously we have a disagreement in parenting. Course my parenting didn't mean my kids could abuse alcohol or drugs.
I do know they tried alcohol and am not sure about any drugs. If they ever did experiment I don't know and don't want to know. Regardless today my daughters are successful business women probably making more in a month than you ever made in a year. One is a real estate broker operating any agency with about forty agents. The other is a mortgage banker. So I am satisfied the wife and I were a positive influence in their lives.

Suffice it to say they would both be very disappointed to read comments like your above regarding their daddy and his parenting skills. Course they'll never know so flame away in your ignorant bliss.

Ok, you're correct that I was harsh in my judgement. I apologize, truly. You are also correct in our difference of opinion on parenting. Let's agree to disagree and build the bridge here, how's that?
