No it's not. I know that's part of Rush's schtick, but there are many people who have varying opinions that don't fit neatly into any predefined box. Those people who have no allegiance to any party will see this interview for what it was.
Agreed, I was thinking more in terms of Liberal vs Conservative. I think there is no independent position between those to political philosophies.
As for Dumbocrat vs Republican, I couldn't vote for a party which stands for nothing and against everything, but I have to hold my nose to vote for a party who has control of both houses and the executive and have pissed away a lot of opportunities.
