For the record, I always received good cooperation from the Mexican illegal community when tracking a rapist of that particular group.
But they were always amazed that the government would would expend the resources when the victim was a 'nobody' and didn't have a rich relative.

Just for once, I'd like to see this Administration butch up and tell Mexico to p#ss up a rope.

I have another friend who served in the Navy and he and a friend went into Mexico once near the San Diego border on Navy bikes for recreation.
Some of their lovely corrupt militia surrounded and jailed them. They stripped them both naked except for their boots.
They Mexicans were huddled in another area of the building holding their clothes IMO figuring out how to kill them when the two guys took the bike keys off a desk and got away on their bikes.
Naked on the bikes they were fleeing back from Mexico with the militia on their tail.
They got back but were quite sure the Mexicans would have killed them to keep the bikes and not get this reported back to the United States military.

It's a corrupt nation run by many bad people.
