Fox News to Stream Original 9/11 Coverage Monday 8:30 EDT
Fox News Channel ^ | September 10, 2006 | Fox News Channel

Posted on 09/10/2006 5:20:16 PM PDT by CedarDave

Over the past few days, I have given a "Heads Up" to Freepers about Fox airing their original 9/11 footage on an internet link that I had bookmarked. Some of you caught it and many of you wanted to.

Well, Fox has made it official. They will air the broadcast tommorrow morning starting at 8:30 a.m. EDT and it will be time synched to the original events.

The link given above does not go to a website other than their main one, so you have to tune in tomorrow to get their actual link.

However, if I were a betting man, I'd bet they will use the same one that they have used the past few days. Those links are given below:

http://www.foxnews.com/projects/livestream/player.html

http://foxnews-foxstream.wm.llnwd.net/foxnews_foxstream

These links will likely be dead until streaming commences. Good luck with your stream captures.

The scrambled F16 caused a lot of people to think there was another incoming.

If you remember the FoxNews guy down on the street, after the second tower fell, the F16 that flew low and fast *freaked* everyone for a few seconds, until someone said "it's one of ours".

I suspect that was the case in DC as well?

They just played the part announcing that BKO perished in the Pentagon crash, that had to be devastating to announce the death of a fellow colleague.

If I run for 9 hours, that will be about 1.1 Gig.

Is that to big?

Should I stop around 700 meg so you can put it on a CD ?

Which would you all prefer?

If you can upload it in parts, that would be great. That way I can download them over several nights, and put them on CDs. In that case, go 9 hours (or for however long/short you want).

That's my "vote." Thanks so much for making this available for us.

I read elsewhere on the thread you lost colleagues from work who were in the towers when they were hit. Please accept belated condolences.

That cloud is unbelievable!

By the way, the smell of fire and chemicals was still in the air around City Hall TWO WEEKS LATER!

I'm signing off for the day. Thanks to CedarDave and ChadGore for all of their work on this thread. I'm glad I was able to be "here." God bless all those innocents who died or lost loved ones on that day, and God bless America.

NEVER FORGET!

Your "speeding up" the upstream: would that affect my ability to download on dial up (54k)?

Some of the people started walking to Brooklyn (via Brooklyn Bridge) as soon as they were evacuated from the Towers. I don't know which stations (if any) showed that. Maybe only still photos and video. Remember that many stations, both TV and radio were knocked off the air as soon as Tower 1 (the one with the big antenna) was hit.

If I remember correctly, some feed was shared (such as Fox sharing with CBS), and some broadcasting was switched to facilities in the Empire State Building, and Major Armstrong's FM tower (1st one on planet Earth) on the Palisades, in Alpine New Jersey.

I'm recording this stream. I'll post a torrent when It's done.

You're awesome. I downloaded and installed the SDP program you recommended. It has worked like a charm all day. I am now the proud owner of Foxnews coverage of 9/11.

Can you post some SIMPLE instructions about how all that "torrent" stuff works? I've tried in the past to download files from a "bit torrent" and could never figure it out.

Yeah, they were part of an independent installation crew... The Pentagon story is the amazing one.

I didn't see live coverage in 2001, so this is a big deal for me.

I was impressed by Brian Kilmeade during the first 90 minutes. He made a quick transition from morning show to hard news. To me, he was the star during the initial confusion.

I was also surprised at how much Rita Cosby's voice has changed since 2001. Does she have a medical problem that affects her voice?

Many thanks for making it available later - really appreciate it; I tried to capture the stream, but I think my Internet connection went wonky at some point and the .asf got corrupted very early during the coverage.

However you split (or don't split) the file is fine by me. Will you be posting the link to the torrent in this thread, or will you be creating a new one?

I noticed the same thing. Her voice was very different!

I just got home from work. SDP has been downloading for a bit over 9 hours now, and the file is a bit more than 1.1Gig. How long will the streaming continue? Does anybody know?

Schmuckie Schumer is up and totally full of BS... Pledges to help and support the fight against terrorism...we can't turn back at this point... nasty world that we have to prepare for...

Actions speak louder than words, and his attacks have been nothing but obstruction to the fight on terror.

The first time I found the stream last Wednesday, they went until midnight EDT and then started over, so that would be 16 hours of coverage and my best guess for today.

CBS has their backup on Empire State Building and was on the air quickly. Everyone else was on the World Trade Center.

Up to the explosions at the Kabul airport. I forgot how quickly we were looking in that direction, even though this was just Northern Alliance stuff.
