USGS is reporting 6.0.

I don't think there is any US Tsunami warning center that tracks the Gulf of Mexico, but a 6.0 earthquake probably doesn't have the energy to cause a major tsunami. This doesn't mean that local tsunamis can't occur (like they did in the Pacific Ocean earlier this year).

Wasn't an earthquake. It was the entire male population of Cedar Grove, Florida falling off their bar stools....they were still there from last night. /sarc

Here's a link in the left margin. Says it was a 6.0.

This was 2 and a half hours ago. Obviously it was no big deal (except for the fishes).

(except for the fishes)

Why would they care? They can swim. ;)

Sounds to me that the oil is lubricating the faults a little to much! We better pump it all out!

I wonder what geologic faults are in the Gulf? [I put "geologic in that sentence because I'm going to lose my mind if I see one more "Bush's fault" post. Ceased to be funny eons ago.]

I live due north of the earthquake. I guess if there was going to be a tsunami, I would have died by now.
