Once again Israel screwed the pooch. 5000 people at the funeral was an opportunity to reduce the terrorist population even further. One MOAB would have done the trick.
Israel doesn't have the MOAB, and neither do we except in a museum. It never went into production.
However napalm, which we also no longer have, or cluster bombs would have done the job well. Heck even a earlier model Merkava loaded up with canister type rounds (a modern version of a "whiff of the grape") or a flechette round, would also be quite effective.
