Police officers kill one suspect -- city urged to declare a crisis
An explosion of violence in San Francisco's southeastern corner left five people dead, including a man and woman shot in their car on a Bayview district street and the gang member who police say attacked them.
The suspect was killed in a gunbattle with police shortly after he shot the two, a 42-year-old cement-truck driver from San Francisco and a 50-year-old woman from Fremont, authorities said.
The victims in three separate incidents Sunday also included a 21-year-old San Francisco man who was shot dead in the Portola neighborhood as he drove a friend home after a night playing Monopoly, and an 18-year-old who was shot to death while working on his car on Potrero Hill.
The violence prompted calls at City Hall for officials to declare a state of crisis in San Francisco. Mayor Gavin Newsom responded that his administration had already tried several measures to cut crime and that "all of us" need to work harder.
The killings brought San Francisco's homicide total for the year to 62 -- a pace that if continued would about reach last year's total of 96, which was the city's bloodiest year in a decade.

SF's Mayor Newman Gaysome should just ban guns.
Has anyone told him this yet?

Sounds to me like San Francisco is getting what it deserves.

More Americans are killed by illegal immigrants (including traffic accidents) than soldiers lost in Iraq.
I love that factoid. It blows the MSM's vicious perfidy wide open.

San Francisco and New Orleans have a lot in common. Both are lost causes. SFO is dying, like NOLA. They wallow in their filth. Both have a turbuelent past and where completely destroyed in a disaster. The Big One hitting SFO would flattened the city and many people would die, which would make Katrina a walk through the park.

The southeast corner of San Francisco has been
one of three areas in SF where murder and mayhem has been rampant for 50 years!
Suddenly it's news?

When will the citizens take their streets back from the miscreants?
Probably when the pain becomes so great that a small percentage of patriots, such as those who fomented the US Revolution, take steps to wake the sleepy masses. The Bayview etc. areas of San Francisco, like many other locales in the US, are nothing more than a monument to the mess termed the "Great Society."
As to comments that San Francisco deserves its current troubles, I would say that applies to the
the nation as a whole.
