Senator McCain's unusually blunt attack on the Bush administration yesterday, including a claim that President Bush and other top officials led Americans to believe that the Iraq war would be "some kind of day at the beach," is fueling suspicions that the Arizona senator and potential 2008 presidential candidate is seeking to straddle rival foreign policy camps in the Republican Party.

McCain's arrogance is breath-taking. I think this self-important RINO actually believes what the press writes about him, and doesn't realize that they can't annoint him the GOP presidential nominee - he's actually going to have to convice GOP voters to give him the nod.

That's why he won't get past the primaries.

Just whose votes does he think he's going to get in the Republican primary?

How many states have "open" primaries which will allow Democrats and Independents to vote? For the life of me, I don't know why Republicans let anyone but Republicans choose their candidates.

He is the favorite Republocrat of the mainstream media.
Nuff said.
I cannot see him carrying the nomination but then again... I still don't understand how Bore and Skerry got so many votes.

McCain doing another hari-kari demonstration for the world.
Any amount of tapdancing in front of a camera and microphone isn't going to garner any support from the GOP, and people wonder why he's so damned angry during campaign season. He brings all this upon himself.

He'll get votes from the same kind of 'republicans' that voted for Arnold Schwarzenegger.

McCain Signals Distance From Bush, Neocons Well. I signaled "distance" from McLame years ago! In fact, watching him for the last few years, I have begun to wonder how much classified info he passed on to his captors while he was in prison camp. Sorry about that--but one can't help but wonder.

McCain I think wants to portray himself as some sort of tough guy with a send more troops in message.
I want toughness but don't see anything from McCain other than political posturing to improve his chances of winning.
He wants to make it look like he's more conservative but I'm not biting.
