While I believe the substance of this post wholeheartedly, I am always a little wary of taking preaching too seriously. Fact is, one could easily extract the same type of statements from Christians when they preach of the Second Coming or of political activism. They, too, hope governments will bend to religious mores and pray for the day when the US is part of a worldwide theocracy ruled by the returned Savior.

While I would not try to make a trap of words, I do take seriously those attempts to impose Sharia or dhimmitude on the US. It is simply incompatible with modern society and I have my suspicions that a lot of Muslims came over here just so they could escape the medieval mindset that underlies Sharia. This nation is built upon a Judeo-Christian ideology and to undermine that ideology would undermine the entire nation and destroy its accomplishments. We can no more separate the role and success of this nation from those ideas and philosophies than I can fill my Mercedes station wagon with regular gas instead of diesel and expect it to keep running properly. I think we need to balance between accommodation and imposition of Muslim standards. I have no problem letting them take off a major religious holiday as a personal day off. I have a lot of problems forcing others to ignore their own holidays because it might offend Muslims. I have problems with muzzling others because Muslims don't want to see others living a different standard. I have problems with de facto censoring of humor, commentary, and just plain neighborly discussion because of Muslims' fragile sense of identity. This is a country of iconoclasts and citizens of this nation have lived with having their icons "clasted" all the time. If Muslims come here, they should expect the same treatment. So I would fight imposition of Muslim standards on this nation but I would not try to muzzle their preachers talking about theocratic dreams that most religious people also talk and dream of in their congrational and private reveries.

Why we are still allowing these subversives into our country is beyond me.

When a "religion" becomes subversive to our Constitution by claiming sovereignty of itself and its own laws as supreme over all our Constitutionally established laws and citizens, it needs to be stopped dead in it's totalitarian tracks. It should not be allowed priority sway over this country. That, in effect, is a violation of the First Amendment, not to mention the core first principles America was founded upon.

An alien control-freak theocracy ruling over America is not what the Founding Fathers envisioned. They surely would have risen up against it like they did the British Crown and driven it from our shores by force, if necessary!
