I could, but I think I will wait it out a little longer. It could be I'm overreacting. :) she is the baby, and I have held on to that. But if it isn't better in a month's time, I think I will either get her changed to a new teacher or remove her and homeschool. I can't take much more crying. It was heartbreaking.
My youngest cried every morning before school and cried most of every morning in school until the end of first grade. I tried bribing her, yelling, staying with her for awhile. Finally one very bad morning I'd had enough, gave her a good spaking and she NEVER cried before school again. She ended up having the best grades and being more active in school than the other 2...go figure.
Oh Emily, you have made me remember when I left my oldest the first day of kindergarten.....I was the last parent to leave even after getting several pointed looks from the teacher. The youngest or the oldest - it's a signal to us who have nutured them, tended to their every need, that this is the first step of leaving our nest. Very understandable the way you feel - hope to hear how her first day went.
This was why we began homeschooling psychogirl, but we waited 4 months hoping hoping hoping it'd get better. She has blossomed and flourished! Psycho graduates high school June 1.
