There are no new pictures of the President or First Lady today, since they are spending some time together at Prairie Chapel Ranch in Crawford, Texas, but we know full well that there are no 'vacations' for this President, and that he is hard at work protecting America from danger.
So.......since there are no new photos, I'm posting several of my favorite ranch pictures just for fun, and will give my report on my husband's and my personal encounter with the President last week, and will post the photos taken from our very own camera.
Enjoy your trip to Sanity Island on this slow August Daily Dose!

I am deeply moved by your account of seeing the President and especially the part about the President autographing the picture of Eric and showing it to Eric. I guess it was worth standing in that sweltering heat for three hours. You and Mr. Ohio between the two of you recalled the President's words so completely. You describe it so well it is as if we were there too. Thank you for telling us about it.

Thanks a million for your wonderful report of your visit with GWB, and for your fortitude in standing in the right spot for so long to get that terrific autograph for Eric.

thanks for great report on Blackwell visit by POTUS.. and re: pix.. the digitals now take long to come "back up".. and when you snap, there is a lag time.. the early, cheapo digitals were pretty fast but now with more sophistication, things take longer, but resolution & pix quality is so much better.
You have some wonderful pix of event! and lucky you sooooo close!

He took the photograph, looked at it, and asked what our son's name was. He took out his sharpie and asked how he spelled his name, and wrote "To Eric. Thanks. George Bush"..........and as he was signing, he said, "Please give him my thanks," and handed the picture back. As he was signing, I told him that this was on one of Saddam's palaces, and as he left, I put my hand on his left arm and said "THANK you!"That is so cool. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. It made me tear up.
